Seems to happen every week now.
Making the derby almost unwatchable
Dunno what they have done this season but Hibs TV has regressed
Numerous reports in Oz and NZ every game…..but today’s especially

I was told before that different regions experience it differently due to the servers or locations the stream passes through. Or something along those lines.

Absolutely perfect for me in the US, and I'm talking not even 1 single buffer. Perfect 🤷*♂️

That's the exact experience I've had this season so far
1080p - keeps buffering all the time
720p - usually a perfect stream with no issues

How do I do that if watching on a Mac Pro?
A few times recently, I've been kicked out with the message saying I've logged in on another device. I can then log back in, but end up missing a couple of minutes of the action. Does this happen to anyone else?

Near the bottom right of the video window there is a Settings icon - it looks like a cog
I click on that to change the Quality to 720p during a live game
It usually defaults as 360p when I log in
I'm using a PC so don't know if it is different on a Mac

A reminder if you’re watching Hibs TV via an IPTV it’s not on Hibs if your stream is buffering.

It's the IPTV streams that don't buffer. :greengrin

And if you are watching IPTV on a fire stick, you may need to restart it before watching. So I've been told!

Had problems at every match this season . End up watching on some dodgy stream so usually with commentary of other club`s TV . Today I ended up watching Hibs TV but not on my official account so Hibs TV International Yearly ticket has become a donation . Last season was fine .

That’s what we did. Hibs tv awful but Hearts tv fine, don’t really understand that as I thought they would be the same but with different commentary

I watched Hibs TV via my IPTV and it was perfect.
I suspect that some of the issues are related to people's ISP etc.

I got a long reply from the help desk (much of which is lost on me) saying that..
"We have moved from 720 to 1080 HD which is now full HD.
This means that the device you are using is having to work twice as hard as before to view the match.............
.................................................. .................................................. ........
"When you login in for the first time, the system will normally sit at 360 but should automatically jump to the full 1080HD...........
..........click on the settling cog on the video player and this will allow you to change the rendition to a higher or lower rate........"
now, these excerpts may very well mean something to others, but not to me....not even close!
Having watched HIBS TV for many years' the service these past few seasons has been, apart from the very odd hiccup, fine.
why they have changed the delivery, is something that has not been explained...if it worked fine on 720...why change to 1080....whatever these figures represent?

Anyone know who looks after this at Hibs or have an email? Given it's outsourced they might not even know there's an issue.

Cliffs been a legend in there but I’m afraid to say I think it’s time for a change. Especially with Joelle Murray summarising it was so dull, zero enthusiasm and very little actual analysis (to be far JM did offer more than others)
also the crowd noise is way to low you experience zero atmosphere.

720 and 1080 are the screen resolution, the higher the number the more data is required (and so more likely to buffer) but also the higher the number the better the picture quality.
Cut out twice on mine but switched to Hearts TV who I found to be decent but biased
I didn't think they were that biased to be fair.

As Matty said, the numbers are the vertical resolution in pixels, so 1080 is a higher resolution (better quality picture) than 720.
That's also the answer to 'why change it?' – to offer better picture quality.
If your internet connection (or some local server issue) means that only 720 is workable, then click the little cog icon at the bottom right and change it to 720.

Laughable nonsense from the "help desk". Unless you're using a device from the stone ages, 1080p should be a breeze on any CPU that's came out in the past 15 years.
