I guess it's to do with Hanlon usually being a first pick and everyone is used to seeing his name on the team sheet, so when he's not playing, he's been dropped.

Whereas ALF is usually on the bench, so if he's starting there again, he's not been dropped, he just hasn't been picked.

I don't think there is much hate for Rocky, just some people think Hanlon a better option. The two of them are probably about equal in having their detractors on here, some of who do def go over the top in their criticism imho
