And that's the difference between a decent manager and Johnson.
Not bad for no scottish football experience to beat a decent St Mirren team
No I'm not getting carried away 😂

Don’t agree with thread title but we’d never have won that under Johnson so already it’s an improvement

A little bit of sarcasm is fine in life.

Is McLaughlin doing Sportsound tonight?
First question should be “You’re doing OK for someone who knows nothing about Scottish Football” :clown:

There's a buzz about Hibs again and the change in manager has played a huge part in that. Johnson made himself unpopular almost from the start.
For all football has changed and continues to change the gaffer is still the most important man at the club, the right appointment can work wonders for the whole feel of a place.
You have to wonder how bad Johnson was and what he was doing or saying to players for there to be such a turn around so quick
It’s like a cloud has been lifted from the club , not just the players but the overall club even the media team are producing better content

The crowd may have been lower than usual, but you sensed a unity and buying into the Montgomerie way, both by player and fan.
A most enjoyable night.

Sorry but my pet hate is the use of “Hibsdit” - needs to be buried under the ground close the the earth’s core - never forget that day in May ‘86 when the real expression should have been formed.

Much more like it - and if anyone mentions the thread title to you - whichever team they support - just remind them of that day - biggest bottling known to man IMHO of course 🤭

It was an increasingly open secret that the players thought he was a prick
Also I think he was quite good at coaching players to improve them but the rumours that he did zero tactical and defensive work with the team are looking more and more believable

I’d rather give Monty and the ‘new manager bounce’ credit for the improvement on the playing side than blame Lee Johnson for our media content.

Imagine it getting coined in a season where
1) we put hearts put the cup, after being 2 goals down with 10 to go
2) we beat rangers in the final - in normal time - despite being behind with 10 mi jtes to go.
3) we win the cup we hadn't won for 110+ years.
Mental.

The phrase ‘hibs’d it’ should be dead in the ground. It’s only Hibs fans I see using it nowadays ironically. Get it binned. Don’t need it lingering around.

I quite like seeing 'Hibsed it' used by Hibs fans when we do something good.
Takes away any supposed power it has if we are able to laugh about it. Getting all worked up about it only reinforces that it bothers you, even if there are protestations to the contrary.

Thank you, finally someone said it. Embrace it, has no power over us.

Spursed it. That's a good one.
The title of this thread should never be repeated. A total myth destroyed in May 2016. The audacity of Aberdeen or Hearts using it is incredible.
Aberdeen not won Scottish cup for 23 years, hearts not won the league cup for 61 years and had two relegations in the past 10 years!

I'm with this. In the same way that the gay community took ownership of all the derogatory terms and removed their power as insults, we should do the same, and then "hibs'd it" is ours to bin as and when we choose.
I'd even suggest a song along the lines of "we've hibs'd it again" every time we win.

No need to guess what Johnson was saying to the players - no doubt similar to the nonsense he was spouting in public.

I have a theory that the term originated with the Sheep, they did a lot of bottling in 2015/16 and always dropped points when Celtic did in the title race. So it came about to deflect from their own failures

Not buying the title thread. Just Jambo delusions. Biggest bottlers in Scottish football, thrown the title away on the last day not once but twice. :bye:

I'm with you on both counts - using it takes away any supposed power and it's only the thickest of Jambos that actually thinks the term bothers us (mind you, thick Jambos are rather populous), it's the same with the 5-1 thing although pedantically speaking, it should have been 1 - 5 and they even got that wrong too!
And yes, I would join in on a "Ooh, we've Hibs'd it again" lol
