Thought he was outstanding today and deserved his goal . Absolute warrior too . MotM imo. .
Going to be a very good player for Hibs .

Decent game but nowhere near MOTM for me. He seems to want too much time on the ball defensively and needs to work on that side of his game. Improving player though and his attacking play is certainly good

I beg to disagree. Lewis put in some shift today and thoroughly deserved the motm award. 👍

I'm a big fan of him. Great athleticism and a great header for the goal. I think he'll go from strength to strength this season

He certainly put in a shift. But he also made a few defensive errors. ALF, Jeggo and Boyle all more deserving of MOTM for me. We all view things differently though.

He was very good today and is becoming a very good first choice right back. I think there’s plenty more to come from Miller.

Probably my favourite Hibs player just now.

Pleased for him getting the MotM, well deserved.

He's a proper athlete but he's still rough around the edges so there will be plenty more to come from him. He had a decent game today but I'd have had Newell as my MOTM.

Jeggo? You’re having a laugh. Maybe if he passed the ball forward and got out of the Johnson backwards mentality. Certainly a player in there but I’m not sure we’ll get it out of him by the end of his contract. I hope he proves me wrong though. Alf MOTM!

Jeggo was good today and did some excellent work. As he’s done over the past three or four games now. He’s improved massively since the start of the season. If you can’t see that, I really don’t know what you’re watching.

You’re talking nonsense. He played the ball forward and out wide a few times in the first half. Anyway, I’ll leave you with your clouded judgement 👋

90 mins
43/52 successful passes
2 chances created
3 passes into final third
Never dispossessed

3/3 tackles won
3 blocks
1 clearance
10 recoveries

He’s not an attacking midfielder. He’s there to break the play up and give it to Newell or another attacker. If he’s got no options in front of him, he’ll keep possession and pass it backwards.

He done well today. Some people can’t seem to get their heads around defensive midfielders. It was the same with Bartley, Gogic etc.

He seemed very happy with the result at full time, gave 100% and still plenty of time to improve.

Not a clouded judgement at all. All entitled to our opinion. Maybe not on here though when you think a player wasn’t great 🙄

Would you not rather a player play ball back to a teammate then force a pass and lose possession.

All about recycling the ball and starting again when nothings on. I’m also more than sure JJ knows his weaknesses and strengths.

All in all a superb team performance!

Only caught the second half. Thought he was outstanding today. I still have some question marks over him but he is improving all the time. Potential to be a really solid right back at this level. I’d imagine if he continues in this vein then a call up with Australia is close.

I don't think it even needs these stats, good as they are. A pair of eyes should be enough to tell you Jeggo played well today and I say that as one of his biggest critics previously. Far too many people getting their knickers in a twist today every time a pass didn't go forward, almost like protecting the ball is a crime.

As for Miller he played well. The best part about him is he has steadily improved since he arrived here but you can still see there is more to come. He's still got rough edges but is improving all the time.

Never dispossessed is quite misleading imo, he might not have been directly tackled, but he passed the ball out of play or straight to a st Johnstone player at least 4 or 5 times.

He made a good few interceptions but was also guilty of over committing into challenges when pressing and getting skinned by quite technically limited players.

He was fine today but his weaknesses were still showing through

Jeggo has been outstanding since Aberdeen away. 3 games in a row i think he has been really good for us . I wasnt his biggest fan , but he has looked a different player since johnson was emptied

I am a fan.

We improved when he came into the side in January and we improved when he came into the side a few weeks ago. This isn’t a coincidence imo. Yes, he has his imperfections as a player but he does a very important job effectively.

I wasn't at the game today so maybe shouldn't comment but I think we'll find someone in the next couple of windows that can do all the defensive stuff but is also better on the ball.

If we're going to keep playing with two in the middle of the park I'm not so sure you can get away with only one of them being able to pass. Newell will start getting marked out of the game once teams see that Jeggo and Rocky are prone to errors trying to move the ball forward.

Jeggo will do a job for now but it's an area I think we'll be looking at in the future.

Still rough around the edges defensively, but getting better and better going forward. Someone on here compared him to David Murphy .. erm not quite yet ... Murphy was as good at coming over to cover the middle as any right or left back I've seen at this club and he was very very good going forward.

One thing I've noticed is that he gets fouled a lot without winning a free kick, the challenge on him in the first half yesterday was tantamount to an assault, nothing less than a forearm smash, and yet the ref didn't see anything wrong with it. I wonder if he'll remember the guy on Wednesday night :greengrin

Pretty sure I've seen a number of Aussie based sports folk style shorts like that...

He's contributing and hopefully developing as he goes. Very much still rough round the edges and best against teams who come at us. He's not even close to David Murphy though. Or the best since him...in MHO. But who knows where he can get to. Cadden must be frustrated and will be interesting to see how he goes when he finally returns.

Why would he need to remember a St Johnstone ‘guy’ on Wednesday when we are playing St Mirren? 🤷🏻*♂️ not all Saints look the same 🤪

Decent game but nowhere near MOTM for me. He seems to want too much time on the ball defensively and needs to work on that side of his game. Improving player though and his attacking play is certainly good

Agreed. Tends to dwell on the ball when he has options to offload, but he's a raw talent who will improve with time a good coaching.

Thinks he's playing Aussie rules with those shorts :greengrin

Switched off at a cross to the back post in the 2nd half yesterday and got caught on the ball a couple of times but thought he had a decent game. No sure if he was my MOTM but decent nonetheless

Seemingly the decision to award him MOTM was heavily influenced by how high he’d rolled up his shorts.

patlowe
24-09-2023, 08:43 PM
Clearly still a bit raw - feel he deserved MOM for the goal and general play but also maintaining a drive and intensity that can so often be lacking (understandably to a point) but is so important in the humdrum fixtures against the so-called lesser teams. Newell also very influential on that front IMO.

I thought we had better players than him yesterday but he was good.

Don’t think it’ll be the last time we see him on the scoresheet either, he’s a threat in the air.

Loads to improve on but it’s his jersey so it’s up to him now.

Can't believe that bothers some folk. It's great to see him progress with us. He did really well yesterday and I like that he gets stuck in. Really seems to wind up the opposition.
