The British Broadcasting Celtic have us below the hubz in the table
despite same points and GD - surely alphabetically we are above them ?

And in our match report saying we’re now 6th…

“New manager Nick Montgomery is now unbeaten in two games as Hibs nudge up to sixth“

Thought we had a few candidates for MOTM today. Jeggo, Miller, Newell, Boyle, ALF, Fish after a ropey start, Vente played well and scored a good goal. Great to see. Excellent attitude and effort as well.
Thought that we also stood up really well to a dirty shower of **** as well. May is a big dirty rat! How Phillips got to the 89th minute without being booked is amazing

May was certainly rattled after the coming together with Rocky. Didn’t really see anything in it though.

I think we need to enjoy Monty at Hibs as he’s going to be here two seasons tops. Looking forward to the journey though.

I just really like Nick Montgomery. Early days but this feels like the most impactful appointment across the club since we brought in Leann Dempster. Similarities are that they seem to just get what we’re about instantly and they clearly can bring people along with them on their journey- hopefully to success.

After a shakey start I thought we were excellent today, you can see that there's an actual game plan and the team really grew in confidence as the game went on. I think we as fans will need to get used to this new play style though, I heard a few moans and groans but the players stuck with it and it was effective. I'm not keen on playing out the back too much because I don't think I have ever seen a hibs team do it well but other than a few heart in the mouth moments it work brilliantly. You could see Stevie May getting frustrated :tee hee: (prick)

The fact that May, their biggest goal threat, was frustrated, running around like a headless chicken, totally pissed off and was eventually substituted shows what a good job the defence did in containing him.

No bother mate . Monty does speak well and it's great to hear such positivity and praise from our manager about the players and performance. Hopefully good times ahead for the Hibees .

Thought the result really covered what was a very bitty performance, had the first goal not been scored just before HT I think there could well have been some booing.

Second half was much better and we really should have scored more. Big improvement once Tavares went off, clearly there is no physical contact in the training drills or Monty would have noticed that he can’t cope yet with the physicality of the Scottish game.

Rocky again showed that he has some major development required, positioning, judgment and timing all suspect again.

Good to see plenty players forward and at times outnumbering defenders.

St Johnstone are probably the poorest team in the league so it will be interesting to see how we do against St Mirren.

Don’t want to be too negative after a good result but any other team I think we may not have picked up 3 points.

Did Tavares really struggle physically? Don't think he got pushed about any more than Boyle does. He done fine, nothing amazing, but fine. Looked like a football player for once.

I think he gets dispossessed far too easily and goes to ground far too often. A definate weakness in his game IMO.

Without doubt.

Boyle can ride a tackle if he needs to Tavares simply keels over. Can you imagine him in a derby?

Don't think he was hopeless but I would be amazed if he cuts it at Hibs.

Think he could be a terrific player for us with regular game time. Bags of ability there. Suspect we may also see Kenneh recalled from Shrewsbury in January so that Monty can get a proper look at him.

Absolutely. Let's reassess the mood if St Mirren win in midweek, which they will be favourites to do.

With who?

Bookies currently have us around 11/10 and St Mirren around 12/5

On this season's form so far St Mirren look a better team than us. We'll do well to beat them irrespective of what the bookies might say.

They are a team in better form rather than a better team. They didn't have the distraction of European football in building that form.

We'll be favourites at home and we should be.

Home win.

Not really an ‘irrespective’ situation when the bookies literally decide who the favourites are.

That's me not long home after a long journey, brilliant 4 nights stay and a decent performance and result.

A decent atmosphere, maybe the best so far in the league at home in a while? Excluding games vs Celtic, rangers and hearts.

I think the mood will be reassessed come 5pm on the 7th after the Derby. Beating Hearts is the be all and end all for many fans and will be the game used for "judgment" imo.
