Playing in the SDG testimonial. Still only 30. Interesting.

Playing in the SDG testimonial. Still only 30. Interesting.Also..
Morrison was left out of D.C. United's MLS squad for the 2023 season, resulting in him being unable to play in the competition while still being allowed to train with his teammates

Was he not widely regarded as a superstar in the youth ranks at Man United? Sure I remember Gary Neville talking about him.

He was at Man Utd as a youngster.
Just about the time David left Man Utd.
Maybe they connected then and remained pals since.
Or maybe he is also coming on loan from DC

That's how I recall it, was being predicted for huge things but fell away. Think Fergie had a really high opinion of him at the time too....

He's certainly had some interesting travels!
His personal life seems to have been a bit chaotic
Think that's the level of players we can expect for Grays testimonial, the original announcement with fletcher, Gibson etc was as good as it'll get.
Regardless I will be there to thank a legend and enjoy the event.

Fergie said he was the most technically gifted young player he had seen at United but his warned him mentality and attitude would cost him. He was pretty much spot on.
I'm sure he tried to personally take him under his wing but he was one of those guys that there was no getting through to. The nomadic nature of his career says it all.

Unbelievably talented player, attitude/ego was his downfall, should of had a really good career, actually a real shame.

Fined £1,000 for using a dead person's blue badge.

In which case we shouldn't touch him with a bargepole.

A few years back I saw Birmingham destroy Palace, 4 0 I think, at Selhurst. Morrison and Nathan Redmond were the wingers and they were unbelievably good. A real wasted talent.

Fergie also said he was dragged down by his upbringing. Think his family had an interesting back story in saying that he is a big boy now..

He tweeted something yesterday saying fake news so the story about the blue badge might not actually be true.

If it’s not true, I completely withdraw my criticism of that point

Was it not the result of a court case?

If he can play, Monty might be the guy to get an Indian Summer out of him.
Unfortunately the level we’re at means that to get quality you have to take a punt. Sometimes it’s on fitness, other times it’s on attitude. Sometimes it works, sometimes it blows up in your face. But it makes life interesting. We will always be a potential rehab centre for maverick genius, as long as we want to play the Hibs way.

No chance. I'm usually all good with trying to be the rehab for players with a bit of style that need an environment to let them flourish and feel loved but I think this guy has proven time and time again that he's just not that arsed with being a proper footballer.
