For those of us who are aff it for whatever reason, thought it might be good to have a thread for AF free alternatives.

Got a few bottles of Free Star lager from Home Bargains, incredibly just 39p a bottle. Got plenty of flavour and body to it, will be getting more.

I initially read the thread title as "free beer/cider/wine thread" :greengrin

Don't think I'll be revisiting now I've read it properly!

I quite like the Czech low (0.5%) lager at M&S. Will give Free Star a try!

Sidenote: I believe that 0.5% or lower can be/is still classed as alcohol free.

Am I the only person who gets really bad headaches with non alcoholic beers? Could it be something in the production process?

I have tried a few different kinds on a few occasions and every time I end up feeling a bit nauseous with a banging headache. If I'm not drinking I tend just to opt for a coke or something now because of it.

I'd sooner have a coke.

Punk AF is excellent.

Guinness 0 is a good alternative to the fizzy lagers.

Guinness 0 is very good. Not a fan of Punk AF, feel it lacks any body to it.

Funnily enough I get that with fizzy soft drinks, I feel as bad as if I’d been drinking booze.

Moretti Zero is actually quite tasty.

Its amazing how many zero alcohol is on the market now, I remember many years ago when a relative had liver problems (not alcohol related) and was unable to enjoy a cold beer whether at home, in the club or when on holiday abroad

The only thing available at the time was Kaliber, I thought it was rank but he fair enjoyed it and Im sure if he was alive today he would be pleased at the variety out there now, spoiled for choice

Heineken zero in bottles is very good. The same drink in cans isn't so good.

Guinness Zero is definitely up there and I drink that at the rugby when I'm driving.

Though increasingly, I'd rather just have a glass of sparkling water with a nice cordial than AF alternatives...

Most of the brew dog stuff is good.

Lucky Saint is very good but normally quite expensive.

Ghost Ship I like.

Free Damm is good.

Heineken 0% is fairly inoffensive and bland but at least tastes like a dull lager.

Flat Tire is decent as well

Must either be something in them or the brewing process, I'm like that with regular Budweiser, even a couple of bottles of it gives me a pounding headache, no other beer does it even when I up the dose

That’s the only one I like.

Moretti Zero is actually quite tasty.

Got a bottle with my hello fresh delivery a few weeks ago… was rotten imo. Tasted like soda water that someone had left a slice of bread in for a week. Tasted nothing like Moretti to me [emoji2371]

I get it as well, had to drive to a party a couple of weeks back and decided to try zero for the first time. It was Lidls one, no idea the name. Tasted fine, but after the 4th bottle my head was splitting and I felt really bloated.

Drank the rest just cause they were in the fridge the following weekend and the same thing happened.

I've never had a headache from AF, but I can't drink more than a couple at a time so maybe I'm not trying hard enough!

Guinness zero when at the rugby.

I get pissed off when they charge extra £1.5 for a plastic glass especially since it’s Effin £6a pint!!

Estrella Galicia 0 is probably the best lager I’ve tried.

Wine wise, they’re terrible. Tried a few alcohol free reds and they’re nice enough in their own right but they’re nothing like wine.

Have the odd Erdinger but prefer a pint of Soda & Orange/Lime if driving.

I'm currently enjoying my first ever Erdinger 0.

It's isotonic don't you know!

Are you aware that 'extra charge' is a deposit, and if you take the glass back once you're finished, you'll get it refunded back onto your card...?

Very annoyingly, it would appear that the reason that they were so cheap in Home Bargains is that it’s no longer in production. Damn.

Got a multipack of 0.0% Leffe from Asda to try.
