The run to the Scottish Cup Final papered over the cracks last season, they were generally poor in the league and there were plenty ICT fans wanting him out despite the cup run.

There was a lot of surprise and a fair bit of unhappiness when he was awarded a new two year contract on the back of it.

Yep, good luck. Big, passionate figure at Everton and did well in a couple of caretaker spells IIRC but his first stab at management with Forest Green was a disaster.

I like big Dunc, he's box office, but it's hard to understand how someone who only won 1 game in 18 in his previous job can be "the stand out candidate" after an "extensive recruitment process"

I felt this could be a good opportunity for someone like Scott Brown or as it turns out Duncan Ferguson. Didn't some fans want him in when he was caretaker at Everton? So this is a big name appointment for ICT although it could go either way. If he can get them up the table and challenging for the play offs it will probably be seen as having done a good job this season.
