There’s free on street parking in and around the stadium. Theres a park nearby that’s usually got spaces in the street along its perimeter. 5 min walk - is that too far?

They’ve introduced parking restrictions around the ground recently
I’d try and park around a mile away or so and walk to the ground

I don’t understand why we are subjected to so many parking restrictions at football now. Yes, right outside the stadium I get, but on streets where on any other day you can park freely it’s then deemed problematic because of a game of football? The logic seems to be the bigger the crowd, the less parking we’ll make available.

Any train to Glasgow will do you. Then train from Central down to Kilmarnock (think you get one about every half an hour).

Some decent, cheap enough pubs on the way to the ground which is about a ten minute walk.

A complete nonsense, and clubs, once again, doing all they can to dissuade people from attending.

I would say though, I chanced my arm and travelled to Aberdeen without a ticket, and got one from their ticket office no problem.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was the same at Killie on Saturday.

Killie did digital tickets back in November 2022 when I was there last.

It seems absolutely absurd to have gone back to paper tickets and make it harder for people to pay them £25 when clearly they have the technology to issue them by email.

I agree, but Hibs do the same, so we lose money too. Motherwell were able to do it for Hibs fans last month with a small box to sell from

There must be a reason for not selling on the day, but this is a customer driven business, and not everyone can plan ahead

Looks like we’ve sold upper blocks 2, 3 and 4 with block 1 still on sale. With the only way of getting a ticket being in person tomorrow I can’t see us selling too many more. Actually thought we’d have shifted a few more on the back of Aberdeen and the new manager.

Is there really anyone who goes to away matches that doesn't have a smartphone or doesn't have someone with a smartphone in the group they go with? Paper tickets are an anachronism. All it does is add an unnecessary cost on the away team's ticket sales team. Surely nowadays all away tickets should be digital and bought from the home team's website?

Edit - although get that wouldn't help a loyalty points system. Just feel away club should avoid costs if that can be done.

We do tend to over estimate the size of our travelling support. I’ve argued before that compared to others in league we’re pretty similar numbers wise despite having a much larger fan base. Occasionally we see a bumper away support on certain occasions but largely it’ll be around the 1200 mark. We had just a smattering of a few hundred at Aberdeen the other week.

Kilmarnock is one of the least appealing away days for me - boring drive to Ayrshire with nothing of note scenery wise, a stadium that’s too big for the home club and a comedy plastic pitch. The bar in the hotel next to stadium was a welcome addition to match day enjoyment, but Rugby Park positives are thin on the ground. Even the pies are not quite as good as they once were!

Think you’re being slightly harsh using Aberdeen last week as a barometer.
This had just come on the back of a congested schedule including thousands of Hibs fans spending a lot of money going to Birmingham 2 days earlier.

There was also the ticketing issue with them only being on sale for a day or two and then sales stopped over the weekend and none available on the day. I had planned to go up but couldn’t buy a ticket. We usually take a pretty healthy support up there. Why clubs don’t make it as easy as buying on your phone right up until kick off for a digital ticket I’ll never know

There was also more than a smattering of a few hundred. Sure our crowd was given as being around 1k. It was down on our visits there last season but was understandable given the reasons you mention plus the fact it was a Sunday.

We will still have a decent enough crowd on Saturday, I just thought we’d take a few more with the the renewed optimism of having a new manager in, coming off a good result and not having had a game for a couple of weeks.

I disagree. I think our away support is fantastic and at least on a par with Aberdeen and Hearts if not bigger. We've taken 4k plus to Perth, Dundee and Livingston in the last 12 months plus thousands to the likes of Motherwell and St Mirren. Our away support is tremendous and probably the biggest i can remember it being consistently.

You should have travelled.

I managed to obtain one from their ticket office without any problem.

It just goes to show that clubs can do it, if they want, but are actively going out of their way to discourage people, if they can.

There was nowhere near a 1000 of us in Aberdeen though, I'd have said about 500.

so if a hundred hibs fans went to Easter road in tbe next hour to buy a paper ticket they would be turned away when section 5 is completely empty
It’s taken me ages to go digital and buy one of things that persuaded me ,was so it was easier to get tickets for games .Now me snd my son are having to rely on Power bringing the paper copies through

so if a hundred hibs fans went to Easter road in tbe next hour to buy a paper ticket they would be turned away when section 5 is completely empty
It’s taken me ages to go digital and buy one of things that persuaded me ,was so it was easier to get tickets for games .Now me snd my son are having to rely on Power bringing the paper copies through
It’s much appreciated but surely this needs sorted out .Fans should be able to buy them digitally on the morning of the game

It's ridiculous, and I completely agree with all that you say.

Many clubs (our own included) now seem genuinely intent on making attending a game in Scotland as difficult as possible.

The fact that gate receipts are Scottish club's biggest source of income makes it even more ridiculous!

This is really poor and if Hibs have played a part in these arrangements they need to sort it out.

I don't live near the stadium and I work away most of the week. I fully intended to go to the game tomorrow with my daughter and now see that I've no way of doing so. There will be thousands of empty seats. Crazy.

What would Hibs have to do with ticket sales for an away game. We have been given physical tickets to sell which we have for well over a week . Kilmarnock do not appear to have digital tickets for some weird reason nor do they appear to have away ticket sales on matchday. This is not Hibs issue and if you are unhappy it might be worthwhile contacting Kilmarnock FC direct to voice your concerns

I've not really been travelling to away games in the league much recently but this seems to be a weekly occurrence now where it's not possible to turn up on the day. There have been a few occasions on a Saturday morning I've decided I would have went along but it didn't seem possible. Nobody wants to **** about contacting the ticket office/ supporters rep to make arrangements to attend a run of the mill league game on a Saturday it's not worth the hassle.

If it's its admin/ staffing costs for the home club that remove the pay at the gate option - I would have thought in most cases the number of tickets sold to walk-ups would vastly outstrip any of that.

Or maybe it's that they want the name and contact details of everyone being sold a ticket...

I think it was suggested above that Hibs asked to sell the physical tickets. But yeah, agree it isn't just a Hibs issue.

Selling tickets for a week from the stadium is fine for some people, not for many others. We are just missing an opportunity to have more supporters there by allowing either digital tickets or selling tickets on the day at Kilmarnock. Neither of which are too tricky in 2023.

As someone else said earlier it can look sometimes like teams try to make it as difficult as possible to attend some matches. These teams mainly also have the seats to use and need the money....

Normally when we go to Rugby Park we take around 1,600 Fans. This time it looks like we're taking pretty much the same.

I have to be honest, I'm not sure why anybody thought it would be any different.

I'm not sure the number makes much odds, it is about whether or not a football match is accessible to attend for those that want to. If it is sold out due to there not being any seats left in the allocated section then that's different. If there are seats available and the method of selling is making it difficult for people then teams should be looking at that.

It’s not Hibs fault on this occasion, but we don’t seemingly sell tickets to away fans at ER a on match days. EG a few weeks ago v St Mirren their fans could only buy direct from them
The stadium tomorrow will be 33% full at most and Hibs fans can’t get in

I understand, but that's a different topic.

I was more addressing the idea some had that we'd miraculously have 50%+ more fans than usual

I'd give Killie a ring and see if you can purchase a ticket from the ground.

That's what I done at Aberdeen, without any trouble at all, despite Hibs saying there were none available on the day.

That incident in itself shows the utter stupidity of what clubs are doing.

Fabulous support once again. The Club would like to thank everyone who made the trip to Aberdeen to give David Gray, the coaching staff, and the players their support.

Now, as we enter a new era under Head Coach Nick Montgomery over 1,750 have already purchased and will be travelling to Kilmarnock on Saturday.

TICKETING

Our Ticket Office is now closed until Tuesday (I have all purchased uncollected tickets on me and will be based outside the away end turnstiles from 2-2:15 right up to kick off), Kilmarnock have now confirmed they will provide an online link for away end digital tickets for supporters still wishing to purchase for tomorrow - once we have received it from Kilmarnock FC we will advise on the Club's Social Media channels.

With the game kicking off at 3pm, turnstiles will open at 2pm.

I'm just at a loss as to what Hibs, and other Scottish clubs, are trying to achieve by this deliberate attempt to make attending a run-of-the-mill league game so bloody difficult.

Add in the fact they haven't bothered to provide a link in the end, and that the stadium won't even be half full, and you've got this mess.

I know one person who took time off his work, to drive from Glasgow, to collect a ticket, when he could have waited and had a digital one all along.

Piss poor by the club.

It's certainly looking that way.

You'd think they'd understand the positive aspect a large and vocal Hibs support could play in helping the team towards three points, or that a winning side attracts more fans and therefore more money.

Yet they still haven't provided a link to tickets for supporters, but they are being quick to tell you about the Christmas packages available at Easter Road.

As you say, the idiots in charge don't give a toss.

Amazes me you are allowed to play top flight football without offering electronic ticketing.

Clubs need to sort this out as saves a lot of time and hassle for folk who want to go.
