Two bald men fighting over a comb, perhaps, but I am seeing record levels of mindless arrogance from Hearts fans on the subject of European football.
Hibs have appeared more times, won more games, scored more goals and have a better win ratio% in European competition that Hearts.
Played hibs 105 hearts 90.
Won 46 / 33.
Scored 181 / 117
Win ratio 43.87% / 36.66%.
It should also be noted that Hibs have scored more goals that we have conceded in Europe. Hearts have conceded more than they have scored.

We've gone miles further than them in Europe. It's no contest.
And now that both teams are selling clubs the contest is over anyway.

Hearts are such a massive team how is this possible?
Next you'll be telling me that Hibs have won more cups than Hearts over the last 50 years....

The contest/barrier for the like us is not being a selling club ,more the cash that is swimming about the big European clubs now .
TV money is one
The cash the English FA and their clubs get is mindboggling alone
But more than that.
The money laundering for years by a Russian oligarch in London is another example of cash flowing in football circles.
But he is off now, after his pal invaded Ukraine. He is/was not alone.
The gulf states want to be more relevant than just producing oil or ignoring basic human rights ,so we have what is termed sports washing, pouring in billions through buying clubs, sponsoring tournaments, etc.And corrupting officials at FIFA
Ok,thats off ma chest :greengrin
Hibernian, First British team to beat both Spanish giants .
:singing:
Barcelona ,Real Madrid ,they will make their gallant bid! :singing:
I ,though memory scarce, was at both games.
Sadly,a feat that will never be repeated .

Hearts first appearance in Europe was the European Cup in 1958/59
My brother Jimmy and his pals from the Grassmarket went along to Tynie to see that first game, with them playing Standard Liege of Belgium.
SL had a black African player who came from what was then called the Belgian Congo (DRC now) whose name is Bonga Bonga (he is still alive )
He was the talk of the town at the time,my brother and faither told us.
He would have been the first Black player many who were at the game that night had seen.
Hearts won that night 2-1 ,but lost 5-1 in second leg.
Paul Bonga Bonga would have been something in a forward line with Dominique Malonga
Made for a great song anyway !!

Maybe not but you have to remember that they try really really hard (much more than us) and that counts for so much more - especially by those muppets at the BBC in Scotland.
And you have to remember that they once had the best ever result in Europe (bar none) when they beat Locomotive Leipzig 5-1 in the 70s - you know the most successful club in Europe back then and ever since - truly amazing that was - yawn 🫢

Sadly our Euro glory days are nearly 50 years ago and more, whereas Hearts have had some decent results in more recent times. I’m 54 and my earliest real European memories are the Norkopping/Strasbourg season.
Our high points are without doubt greater than theirs though.

Despite them both being huge European games there were 2,000 more at ER the other night than there were at Tynie. They truly are the wee team! GIRFUY Attendance FC !
