I'm guessing so.

No idea if it applies to him or not, but down the years I've known a couple of reporters who (as fans of their local club) have covered Aberdeen and Blackburn Rovers. Both were initially elated to land what seemed like a dream job but neither stuck with it for similar reasons...basically didn't find it healthy to have your whole life revolve around the club and almost began to resent being yoked to them. The Blackburn fan, in fact, rarely went back to watch them after he left the job and has subsequently drifted away from football pretty much altogether!
