McGinn..
I was at Villa Park today, Villa v. Everton. John McGinn absolutely superb all afternoon. Was the architect of everything Villa did, superb performance.
Good result for Villa but really poor Everton.

He’ll be too busy inside Joe Newell’s pocket to cause us any issues

Did the Everton cloggers cause any short to medium term damage? Saw Coutinho came on as a sub then was subbed himself and wondered if he had been clobbered?

what’s with all the ACLs in both the men’s and women’s game atm. Is it the boots they’re wearing?

What’s Stephen been saying about it?
The midfielder's brother Stephen, who plays for Falkirk, insists the ex-Hibs star had been eyeing the play-off draw for MONTHS.
And it was a return to Scotland that the Villa ace was hoping for.
Quizzed on the upcoming game on BBC Sportsound, Stephen said: "We're really looking forward to it. My mum and dad were saying with the European away tie they might have to travel far...they only have to go an hour now through to the capital.
"But John has been saying for months he's desperate for a Scottish team. Whether that be Hearts or Hibs, maybe even Aberdeen if they dropped down to the Conference.
"When the tie came out for Hibs vs Luzern, I think a small section of Birmingham celebrated the Jordan Obita goal quite heavily.
"Wherever it was in Europe it was going to be special for John...to do it at Easter Road where the Hibs fans are fond of him, he's desperate to get back there. Personally it will be a special night for him and the family."

I fully expect John McGinn to throw the game against Hibs, as he loves us so much. Be really disappointed if he plays well…

He's playing out of his skin since Emery came in, he's gone up to a level I don't think even he thought he was capable of. He's genuinely one of the best midfielders in the league now, I struggle to think of anyone better, maybe Rodri at City who is just a ridiculous player, but then he's a miserable whining ****bag too and he hasn't got the bum roll in him like SJM.

This is a bit much. Good few better. Odegaard, De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva. He is playing very well though.

They're all show ponies, I'm talking about proper midefielders that can tackle as well.

Makes it all the worse when you think of what Villa paid us for him, meanwhile they have just signed some player for £50m plus! Also we will probably never end up with a sell on fee as probably too late for that now!

He won't leave us until his legs have gone I reckon, we don't need to sell and he's now captain of the best Villa side in decades.
He needs to help us lift the curse before he's done, going into the 67th year since our last FA Cup win.

Well yeah, fair enough, but that was our 7th win, and the closest anyone else was at the time was 4, and now there's a bunch of clubs with more including tinpot ***** like Chelsea and Man City, I think Wenger won it 8 times on his own.
I'm not bitter though.

Slightly off topic, but it will never fail to make me smile to see Chelsea spending hundreds of millions of pounds just to get pumped week in, week out.

How come his family are getting tickets over Hibs supporters! Petrie!!!!!

So the order of priority for Hibs games is Hibs 1st, Block 7, John McGinn's mum and dad, ST holders then general sale. 🤔

Rodri couldn't score up against two centre backs from the championship and a championship goalkeeper at Hampden

We need them to get a red card. LJ's got about a 90% win ratio v 10 men.

If any season ticket holder wins the scottish cup in a hibs strip, then I’m happy for their mum and dad and second cousins twice removed to have free priority tickets 😊

I for one don't care what he does. When the whistle goes he is an opposition player and gets absolutely no respect for90 mins. John is very good at PR and will say the right things sure Lewy will let him know he is in a match early on

I seen players come back to there former clubs before and score against them and not celebrate because they have respect for the club they were once with and if he does score and doesn't celebrate I'd take that as a sign of his respect for us . Hope he doesn't and has a poor game against us though once our two legs with Villa are over . I'm right back to wishing a Hibs legend nothing but the best .
