2nd half was one of the best performances we’ve had it a long time. Maybe since the rangers 3-1 semi.

The team were up for it today. Le fondre and Vente are both mobile and intelligent. Doidge continuing his hard work when he came on. Newell was sensational.

Do still think luzerne could cut through us next week but I don’t think we could have asked for anything more than a 2 goal lead. Glad for those going over there next week that we have a real chance. Should make the trip even better

Would agree with that. They had more posession in threatening areas without really hurting us. They are good technically so need to be aware of that next week.

2nd half was best performance in about 18 months or so

Great night slightly spoiled by the moronic decision to hold Hibs fan in after the game and not allow them out through to Sainsburys. Great Overtime for Edinburgh's "finest" guarding an empty street and as usual creating ill feeling unnecessarily.

On the field there were so many positives but we still have a way to go before we are at our best. Boyle is miles off it, Youan was terrible and as lazy as I have ever seen a player in defence, Fish wasn't at his best and Melkerson looks like he would fall over in a strong wind. So many of our big players performed though with the old guard of Hanlon and Lewis pretty much perfect in their work. Newell, Miller and teh front two were all stand outs with Joe "head and shoulders" above the rest. Marshall even made a save tonight although had a part to play in their goal with a very poor punch which led to the corner.

I worried when I saw the team as I thought they would destroy us down the wings with Youan and Boyle offering no protection. Left and right Lewis stopped the crosses and protected the centre halves brilliantly despite very little help from the two ahead.

It does amaze me how so many players can play so poorly in the first European game and in the first half against the Buddies and so many were on their game tonight. We really do blow hot and cold.

Haven’t enjoyed a Hibs game as much as that for a long time.

A group of players who get Hibs and a group that looks to have a great camaraderie. Vente slotted in for debut in a manner that suggests he’ll settle very quickly, and comes across as another good personality.

With this side I’m finding I can’t wait for the next game to come around. With this side, you also don’t know exactly what you’re going to get, but having that buzz for the club is what it’s all about.

Roll on Sunday.

It seems a shame to pick fault with anybody from last night, but I totally agree with this. At the time I thought he could have caught that ball and when I watched the game back on the telly I was even more convinced he could have. As it was his attempted punch was woeful and as you say had a big part in them winning the corner that they scored from.

The central defence was at fault for the goal conceded at the corner. The marking was almost non existent. Sure Marshall could have perhaps caught the ball before it eventually led to a corner, but he certainly isn't at fault for the goal itself.

Watched it a fair few times too and still can't see a deflection. Think one of our players was given a wee push leading up to the corner too . Maybe soft though.
