He's just a proper player and I've been pleasantly surprised at the amount of energy he has. Good bit of management to take him off though, it's going to take ALF a bit more time to recover when he's playing twice a week.

I noticed this at the end also. He will probably bring as much benefit to us a club off the field as he will on it. A great role model for Vente and if Melkerson still has a future at Hibs learning form ALF will do him good.

A selfless player that will do more that the Craig Brewster role in bringing on the youngsters and help creating a team minded spirit - dare I say culture. That’s the hope and credit to Brian McD for ALF and Vente who I understand he’d tussled for 8 days to get over the line - not much he could have done about immigration.

He is brilliant in the air and really knows where the runs are being made behind him. Not sure I would say I wrote him off after his first few games but I didn't expect to be as impressed as I am in his last couple of performances. Having three central strikers all a bit different and all chipping in with goals and assists will make us forget Nisbet pretty quickly and make us far harder to play against

This is the one of only a handful of things Johnson's said that I agree with and feel it's thrown back at him unfairly. Football IQ is all about awareness and decision making with respect to your own and others abilities. Alf's touch and cross was 'football iq' in spades. No offense to any of our other players but I doubt many of them if any would have thought to do the same.

Just a proper professional who you can tell has played at a good level. Simple things he does so well. Makes it difficult for defenders twice his size just by knowing how to make it awkward for them when he knows he won’t win the ball. Work rate and sharpness still there.
