Dont think its shan at all, Marshall is experienced enough to take it on the chin, if Hanlon gets injured or dropped then he will likely get the captaincy back, providing he remains as our no1

If not necessarily being captain, I think it's hugely beneficial to have a goalkeeper who acts like a captain - barking out orders, maybe being slightly older and having the respect of all the players.

Marshall can still play a very important senior player role without having an armband on.

Or maybe David intimated to Lee he should give it to an experienced out field player

2 of the last 4 world cup winning captains are goalies. 1 of the others is currently Bayern Munich Captain. Think the person and their personality is a bit more important than their position.
