It is a bit of a hike from the train station to the ground, take a brolly or jump a taxi as it is forecast to pour down. Some decent boozers en route, only one to avoid, full of UJ and red hand stuff. (can't remember its name tho!)

Thanks! I feel sorry for Jair. I think a season loan at a localish club, say Falkirk, Raith, Pars, even City would do him good. He could possibly run amok, certainly at league 1 level and build up confidence. We have nothing to lose, he still has 3 years on his contract.

Last time I was in there I was wearing a Russian Army hat that I purchased in Vilnius, don't think it's likely to see the light of day again!
I've actually been in The Red Lion when Rangers were playing an away European game, the guys were actually fine, the wall adornments not so much, I'm sure that a Jambo owns it.

Almost like we are hoping he quits. Left out of training camp, in the Dev squad, getting subbed. But to be fair, he has not shown the quality or promise we had hoped for.

Pretended he was injured so they just subbed him then pretended he wanted to stay on. He was an embarrassing waste of space today. A really young Hibs team played well in spells, a good run out for them and probably the first time they've played on a coo field, the grass looked like it hadn't been cut for a long time.

When he signed i was excited, then i saw him play. Iv'e not seen anything from him one of the kids couldnt do, i've never seen him beat a man and swing in a decent cross, or even look like he could be a part of our 1st team squad.
And dont mention the wages. :rolleyes:

He’s not 13, he’s just turned 16 and comes from Coldstream.
There was no pretending. Jair played okay in spells much like most of the team.
It was a good game to watch and both teams played their part.
Agree with the “men against boys” comment from earlier but the young guns including Jair stuck to their task.
He’s nowhere near as bad as people are making out.

Josh Landers #9 and Robbie Hamilton #19. Landers only turned 16 in February.

Different take on the game, i thought hibs were poor, and had no shape, i actually don’t know what the tactics were.
We really are struggling for a couple of centrebacks, at under 18 level.
I’ve been impressed on many occasions with the younger teams , but not today.
Jair played well against dunbar, he was dreadful today.
The game was spoilt by the ridiculously long grass, and obviously didn’t help us trying to pass.
The under 18s, key players Rudi, jacob,and mccalister were in spain, so the team deserves to be cut some slack.

I said it the 1st time i watched him play , he genuinely looked like he had won a fans competition to get to play with the team he follows .. He really looked that far off of the level surrounding him. I genuinely feel sorry for the guy, but at the end of the day its the club I care about and he has got to be emptied at earliest opportunity. He looks like someone who would win a keepie uppie competition not a professional footballer and definitely not in the British leagues

He has to go out on loan. There doesn't seem to be any real place for him right now. Even if he went out on full wages, we are not losing anything.

The management team are already trying to cover their ass by saying he was always a developmental project. You don’t give a player like that such a big deal. They ducked up. It happens. They need to find a way out as he’s currently a waste of a player and we are chucking young players that are better.

What I meant was if we moved him out on loan and didn't ask for any contribution,we would not be any worse off. He needs to play regularly I think as the litmus test as to whether he can actually be off use. If they would take him, I would give him to Dundee United for half a season at least.

If it's a "development loan", player can play for both clubs; if not, he only plays for the other club. Depends on the agreement.

I agree, I posted yesterday a loan to a localish club, so he doesn't have to move, would be good. Falkirk, Raith, Pars, even Edinburgh could do him wonders. I'm currently in Portugal and always talking to Benfica fans. Most really expected him to be better than Dun.

I really think he'd struggle in the championship.

Sometimes you are best cutting your losses and paying him off .. He is levels below where he would need to be to make it at Hibs. We could do without all the drama and strops and cut ties

Perhaps. But at least that would be tangible evidence. I'm sure that I read something from LJ that said he is suffering from not having enough time to learn from McGeady due to his injuries, which has to be complete nonsense. As with some other players, we may have been sold a pup with this boy and perhaps it would be better to acknowledge that.

Blaney seems like a great prospect in a position where we are in need of cover so hopefully he still gets a look in this season.

Went from LJ tracking him for years to needs time to adapt to playing with 15 year olds in development team. We took players to Spain knowing they were going to be away on loan or to be sold rather than him.
If I was him I would be offering a pay off deal
and walking to save any career opportunities

Not unusual for teams to have a player who's retired from senior football as a type of on-field coach.
Tom Huddlestone does it for Man Utd, Jay Spearing for Liverpool etc. Given Daz coaches the 18s and a fair few of them have been playing the development squad matches, it probably makes sense to have that link.
Blaney would possibly be playing but is still receiving treatment for shoulder injury - could see him in the physios room on Sky Sports today next to Cadden.

I also wish we would do this. Wouldn’t cost us a penny other than a blue tick as the existing youth coaches could run the account easily without much effort I’m sure.
I’m glad we separate out men’s and woman’s accounts, I just wish BBC football website would choose to do the same.
