Just watched footage of Sunak in Washington. Biden was not there to greet him and the short televised initial meeting didn’t appear show Biden in a good light, reading from notated prompts and not quite with it in my opinion. Is he really fit enough to stand for a second term?

Might be a measure of how little the special relationship means to America?

But coupled with his fall the other day you you might be right.

Much is made of Biden’s age etc but he is putting together a pretty good presidency.

I would agree with you on that. People forget (or don't know) that he was a senator for 36 years - and chaired a couple of big committees as he ascended. Bi-partisanship is in his blood on that basis, and generally you need that in oodles to get stuff done.

By far the best US president in my lifetime, not that there's much competition.

Yeah, when i think about it that's the same for me...equally though, Gordon Brown was probably the best PM, mainly because of how bad everyone else was.

Is he that good or did his predecessor lower the bar so far that he seems better than he is?

FWIW I like him and was delighted he won. I just can’t help though that a country that size should be producing more appropriate presidential candidates than it does.
