We'd need to get through three rounds. 2nd qualifying we should get through but wouldn't be seeded for the next two rounds so would be incredibly difficult to make it..

Win the third and you take the seeding over for the playoff. Just need to hope for a decent draw if you get to that point.

Can’t wait for a trip though.

Three rounds. First will be winnable, likely against some minnows. Second will be a team well above our level and third will be OF-quality if not higher. It'll be a stretch.

The last five times we were in Europe, we'd have had to have beaten the following to make it to the group stage (teams we actually played in bold):

2010/11 (EL): Maribor, Palermo
2013/14 (EL): Malmo, Swansea, Petrolul
2016/17 (EL): Brondby, Hertha, Panathinaikos
2018/19 (EL): Runavik, Asteras, Molde, Zenit
2021/22 (ECL): St Coloma, Rijeka, PAOK

Hopefully we will be better prepared this year than we were the last time. 1st game is just over a week before the 1st league game so we should be nearly ready.
Could be a good selling point trying to get Fish , Egon Riley or anyone else on loan getting them some European football experience.

Only a 32500 capacity stadium for the final. Means we will only get about 6 or 7K tickets, won't even cover ST holders.

I'm raging that I'll potentially miss out.

I know you’re kidding but if hibs ever made a European final I’d let Malcolm McPherson/Ben Kensell/whoever it takes sleep with my mrs for a ticket. I think I’d actually encourage it, no chance I’m missing that.

Fondly remember watching FC Santa Coloma (our 2nd round opponents from Andorra) v Mons Calpe (Gibraltar) in the 1st round of the 2021/22 Conference League on a dodgy stream and getting really excited. Hopefully we get a similar standard of opponent this year.

To be fair I thought we were competitive against Molde and Rijeka. We were in with a real chance away to Rijeka until Daz got sent off.

Aye, we did alright against Molde but that big striker they had was too good. He was a young lad at the time, wonder what happened to him?

Hermit crab created a thread Possible Euro Opponents (hibs.net) (https://www.hibs.net/showthread.php?362500-Possible-Euro-Opponents) But essentially for us

The club finishing fifth in Scotland would – again, provided Celtic win the Scottish Cup – enter the Conference League one stage earlier at the second qualifying round. They may be given a seeding depending on the co-efficients of those progressing from the first qualifying round. That will be decided nearer the time. The second qualifying round ties will take place on July 27 and August 3.

If seeded at that stage, Scotland’s representatives could be drawn against some of the following unseeded sides (* denotes assumed progress from the first qualifying round):

Gzira United* (Mlt), Levadia Tallinn* (Est), Connah's Quay* (Wal), HB Torshavn* (Far), Europa FC* (Gib), NK Domzale* (Slo), FC Santa Coloma* (And), Progrès Niederkorn* (Lux), Beitar Jerusalem (Isr), Hammarby (Swe), Kalmar (Swe), Zalgiris Kaunas (Lit), Pogon Szczecin (Pol), Zalaegerszeg (Hun), Kecskeméti (Hun), Sepsi OSK (Rom), Borac Banja Luka (Bos), Sabah FK (Azb), Ordabasy Shymkent (Kaz), FK Aktobe (Kaz), NK Celje (Slo), FK Auda (Lat).

If unseeded, they could meet any of the double-starred teams listed as possible third-qualifying round opponents above, or one of the following (* denotes assumed progress from the first qualifying round):

Dudelange* (Lux), Riga FC* (Lat), Maribor* (Slo), KuPS Kuopio (Fin), Shkendija Tetovo* (Mac), Neftchi Baku (Azb), Linfield* (Nir), FC Vaduz* (Lie), DAC Dunajska Streda* (Svk), Dundalk* (Irl), Osijek (Cro), Alashkert* (Arm).

Yep. But we'd need to beat a team with a coefficient of around 25.00 or more in Q3 to end up seeded in the Play-Offs. Not every seeded team we could face in Q3 would be seeded in the Playoffs. We'd need to beat someone like Basel, Club Brugge, Gent, AZ Alkmaar etc.

A seeded team we could draw in Q3, Lech Poznan (who reached the ECL Quarter Finals this year) would not end up seeded in the playoffs as it stands. Which probably highlights the size of the task we have (and Hearts) in navigating the Q3 and Playoff rounds.

In terms of building the Coefficient this is the first time i can think of that Scotlands 5 best clubs have qualified for Europe (in part because we previously only got 4 spaces I guess). Have Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs every all played European football in the same season. Potentially exciting times.

that’s a sobering table.

hearts earned £5million more than us from prize and TV money.

if you also factor in the FOH cash they get and the money from other benefactors it seems obvious they’re going to be shopping in a different market to us.

the fact they just scraped 4th place ahead of us is funny as hell and shows how they continue to waste money but those figures are concerning. And it will be Aberdeen enjoying those numbers next season with their guaranteed group stage football. We really blew it by not building on our 3rd place finish in 2021.

This is why the venue for the final shouldn’t be decided until the semi finals IMO (not that we’ll be there?! :greengrin)

Look at the teams that were in the final of the Europa and the Conference last year, and the same again this year. They could have filled stadiums twice the size of all those picked

This is this seasons prize money, would expect a small increase this season

First qualifying round elimination: €150,000
Second qualifying round elimination: €350,000
Third qualifying round elimination: €550,000
Play-off round elimination: €750,000
Qualified to Group Stage: €2,940,000
Match won in Group Stage: €500,000
Match drawn in Group Stage: €166,000
1st in Group Stage: €650,000
2nd in Group Stage: €325,000
Knockout round play-offs: €300,000
Round of 16: €600,000
Quarter-final: €1,000,000
Semi-final: €2,000,000
Runner-up: €3,000,000
Champion: €5,000,000

From Hibs point of view, guaranteed €350,000, not all profit as travel costs as peak season can be expensive
I decent home crowd will help towards these costs
