You could stretch the point as Reilly and Wardaugh both played against Hungary in 1954.:greengrin

When John Collins scored on his Scotland debut Saudi Arabia away 1988 2-2 John Colquhoun Gary Mackay and Henry Smith all came on as second half subs
The SFA must have been trying to give Hearts all their Scotland caps all at the one time

Of Course, with Jimmy being an inside forward.
Strange,it is such a rarity ,even at that time in the late 40s through the 50s when both Hibs and Hertz had super teams and strikers !
Willie Waddell even denied the Famous Five all turning out for Scotland in the same game .

Aye !
Collins was head and shoulders above the other two outfield players.
Collins got 58 caps, that hertz trio, 9 between them .

Yes Jimmy was a super player.Hearts supporters of course couldn't see past Willie Bauld despite Wardaugh being their top scorer including 2/3 seasons top scorer in the league. In the days when some of us often went to Tynecastle to see big games it amazed us how the fans were always on his back and I was once shown a Hearts programme with a paragraph asking supporters to stop barracking him.It was rumoured that the reason was because he was a catholic.Ironically he had a spell producing the programme. Sadly he and Bauld both died very young.

As a schoolboy,i was a milk laddie with the "Dummie".
Sometimes on a Saturday i would go back to the Bryson Road Dairy and earn some extra shillings helping out.
Anyway my van driver (a jambo) was pals with Willie Bauld and would stop at Willie's shop nearby Tynie for fags and a paper.
Willie was a nice man,i recall.
Add to that, I use to deliver milk to Hearts full back Davie Holt (Clerwood) who always gave me a good tip when i was collecting weekly "milk money " on a Saturday morning with my Hibs scarf on !!
Also delivered Tommy Walkers milk in the Barnton Estate.
He got posh milk.Logan and Forrest dairy at D'Mains:greengrin

I used to deliver Pat Stanton’s paper when he lived in Mountcastle. Daily Record I’m sad to say

It sadly highlights how hard up we are for
international strikers.
