Great to see Paul on the scoresheet in back-to-back games vs the Old Firm

I heard a rumour that he has already scored an important goal at Tynecastle at least once before in his career:greengrin

Would be great to see him score in 3 games in a row if it fires us to Europe & above the Jambos

As a related aside, former Jambo announcer Scott Wilson was MC for a charity doo I was at in 2016/17
I asked him to record a message (in his most depressed & downbeat voice) that I could use as my ringtone
It was for charity, and it was just asking him to repeat his best-ever moment as the Tynecastle announcer

The message: "Equaliser for Hibs, by number 4, Paul Hanlon"

Worth every penny

:flag:"and it's all because of yoooooouuuuuu"

Probably my player of the season. Think he's been class on the whole.

Even my mates who aren't his biggest fans (performance wise, they like him as a guy) have been praising him this season.

Fair play to him for doing it!

Unfortunately it looks like the goal last night has officially been given as an OG for no reason I can see.

I thought it was an OG. Header wasn’t going on target, hits of the Celtic player and goes in. You see it from the angle low down behind the goals although I thought it at the time anyway.

No doubt the clowns on the various Facebook pages will be banging on about Paul (and Lewis) being 'finished'. Both have been superb the last 6 months.

I don't think it's conclusive that Hanlon's header isn't on target, but best guess from the angle where you see the deflection would say it it probably isn't. Harsh, but can see why OG is given.

No consistency though, look at Sakala's goal last night. Hearts player sliding in to clear the ball manages to stop it on the line but the drags it in with his other foot. Surely that's an OG too?

Hanlon’s header is pretty guff to be fair and unlikely to be a goal if it doesn’t hit the defender.

As an aside who actually decides these things? Do they have access to real time TV feeds etc? It’s just one of those things that happens without you ever really knowing how!

I’m not sure I have a particular issue with them playing and doing a job, what is grim is that we have tried and failed so many times to replace them with better/younger and time and time again we’ve ended up with worse and had to call them back into team. It’s not their fault, and they should be in the team just now as they are the best we have, it’s just rather symptomatic of our recruitment that we’ve failed so many times to find replacements for them.

If we’d got in a few players to be developed and nurtured by them, that would have been fantastic. Maybe they are already doing that with younger teams as they are clearly model pros and love Hibs.

Onto the derby👊🏻

Looking back at the replays there was no way that was on target. He's trying to play it across goal.

Both been superb the last 10+ years.

It'll be quite some time that we see a back line that contains the likes of Lewis, Paul, Darren, and in the end SDG too. Even though SDG wasn't a Hibby growing up or came through our youth system (and Daz came to us on a free transfer) all four are icons.

After the cup win, that back four deserves to be put on a pedestal as much as any other legendary line up in the clubs history. And although that's being unfair on Fonts, those four in particular have given us so much.

I always thought that if the header/shot was heading goalwards it would be given to the attacker, but if it hits the defender and clearly changes the direction would be an OG.
