View Full Version : Huns in the Segregated Section

I know this was talked about in the main thread, but how the hell were the 6 or so Huns allowed to sit there? Clearly with Police approval, given they did sod all, so I can only assume others were sitting in their seats. Or they had fake tickets for seats themselves.

I'd love to know the facts but I won't hold my breath on our club following it up.

Didn’t notice that, but the amount of Rangers fans in the upper section above the old scoreboard, was just incredible
That area was absolutely rammed and there’s no way that area didn’t have an overcrowding problem

My Son In Law saw zombies selling tickets on Easter road and not just one or two either, probably fakes and I assume they wont scan but a Steward will just let them in. Celtc do the same and clubs need to act because this is an accident waiting to happen

Each QR code is unique so if it doesn't scan they should be told to go the ticket pods and have the ticket checked by a scanner. Have not seen what comes up on the hand held scanners but surely it will be a message to the effect that it has already been scanned
These turnstiles should be have police back up

I heard some boy shouting about ticket for sale on Easter Road. The club do need to be stewarding/policing the visiting Hun and the other erse cheek more .

It doesn't matter if the ticket scans. Celtic and Rangers fans have been either forcing 2 people through the turnstile with 1 ticket or bunging stewards a few quid for years. They'll take their chances on a ticket and if it's no good they'll slip a steward a few quid and he'll let them in.

I used to go to a few games at Pittodrie when I lived in Aberdeen, always sat in the away end. Most games didn't sell out so I just paid at the gate. I went to a few Celtic games with a mate over the years and they always sold out. Never once had a ticket but always got in. A tenner was the going rate then, £20 if you got someone driving a hard bargain. Slip a steward the cash, exit door got opened and in you went. Once you were in you could stand wherever. Police and stewards were far too scared to walk into the crowd and start huckling anyone.

:agree:

I know Celtic fans who doubled up at the turnstiles at Hampden for the league cup final this season.

It’s crazy they’re allowed to get away with it so freely. It’s an accident waiting to happen.

Only way to stop the doubling up is to keep the allocation so small they can be more closely monitored.

What a shame it would be..

Was in the top tier, section next to the Celtic fans and had one of them ask me if he could go through the turnstile with my son. He was that drunk I don't think he realised he was trying to get in the Hibs end.

The clubs, and authorities, are going to have some difficult questions to answer should that accident ever occur.

The police should have checkpoints in place well before the South stand turnstiles, and people not in possession of a ticket should be nowhere near the turnstiles.

The thing is though, I've seen this in action at both Pittodrie and Tynecastle this season, and on both occasions I've been asked to produce my ticket.

They overcrowd these stadiums too, so how are they managing to get past these checks? Once again, it seems both arse cheeks are policed in a different manner from the rest of us.

You only need to see the Union Bears section today to see how 'strict' the searches were at the South stand today compared to the searches at the East stand.

In a world of mobile tickets it’s easy to download the same one onto multiple phone which get you past the first check

It’s an accident waiting to happen, someone needs to step up

The easiest way to stop this happening is to cut their allocation to zero. I’m up for that.

Just sums up how they get to do whatever they want. If you tried to do something similar at Ibrox you’d spend several hours in Govan Police station.

The club won’t ever do anything about their behaviour in our ground because they want their money, simple as that.

Both Tynecastle and Pittodrie don't do digital tickets, certainly not for our visits anyway.

I'm sure it's only physical tickets for Rangers/Celtic fans at ER too.

I believe too that our club has to pay for the stewarding and the increased policing required? You really have to ask what we are getting for our money when you see all of the behaviour outlined in this thread routinely taking place without being either prevented or confronted.

The selectivity is what really grates. Crowd safety has to be addressed so we'll force clubs to build expensive all seater stadiums. Drinking is a safety problem so we'll ban that inside grounds too, further reducing revenue. But wait, they'll just bevvy beforehand themselves so let's make kick-off noon to stop too much drinking.

What about the hate speech, the turnstile loading, the overcrowding? Nah, it'll be fine.

Well shall we enforce all this consistently at every ground? Depends, where are the Old Firm playing this week?

What a corrupt, contemptible, diddy, racket Scottish football and everything surrounding it is.

Knew a Rangers fan who went to Parkhead the last time their fans were allowed in he showed his ticket from the previous game there & was just ushered in. He's no a small bloke so doubling up in turnstiles wasn't an option.

They let him is using a ticket that was for the wrong date and would probably say "Away fans" on it?

He was an away fan, he probably just obscured the date, or the Steward got a half bottle of buckie, or the Steward just wanted rid of him due to the smell

Nice of Hibs, stewards, police to allow Celtic fans to sit in the sectioned off area tonight.

Seriously, what's the point of it?

No sign of the stadium manager wading in then?

Oh, I forgot, it's only flags commemorating deceased Hibs fans he has a problem with.

Both Rangers and Celtic do what they like at ER, and we bend over and take it right up the rear thanks to the enablers in our boardroom.

They were also allowed to stand on the walkway along the front where the green brigade were massed.
Love the way the police were about 6 ft away from them between the East and South stands and just ignored the intrusion.. Same at other bit.
Nearest Sgt thinking, "I'm not making a decision, let the Inspector do it,"
Nearest Inspector thinking "I'm not making a decision, let the CHief Inspector do it."
Chief Inspector thinking"I'm not making a decision, let the Match Commander do it."
Match Commander sitting drinking tea, playing on his phone doesn't make a decision as none of his underlings have raised any problems!!!!

Would the reason it was moved be because of its site in the disabled section and may have been busier than usual on Sunday?

(I wasn’t able to attend on Sunday so didn’t see the incident in question)

Instead of letting them sit in the bit that’s been cordoned off for security they should have been sent up to the hundreds up empty seats in the upper tier

Loads of bangers set off by them last night

I would guess most of the stewards are employed through a certain Glasgow based security firm so, I think therin lies the issues.

Not only did the stewards allow them to sit in the empty section, they were actively directing Celtc fans to sit/stand there. I suspect it was folk who couldn't sit in their actual seats due to other fans occupying them.

The banger supply seemed to run out after the third goal which was a shame.

Perhaps those in the segregation area were remnants of the group who received letters from Celtic about their personal hygiene and the area was set aside specifically for them after failing to heed advice to wash a bit more. Judging by the nick of a lot of punters seen pre match though there were more than the 20 or so still struggling.
