Our last 18 league games v Sevco (May 2018-March 2023) = P18 W0 D6 L12 F18 A39 Pts 6/54 GD -21

Last time we beat them in any league game (at Ibrox) = February 2018. SJM and MacLaren scored in a 2-1 win.

Our last 10 home league games v Sevco (December 2017-March 2023) = P10 W0 D5 L5 F12 A21 Pts 5/30 GD -9

Last time we beat them in a home league game = April 2016. Cummings, Gunnarsson and Wes Foderingham OG in a 3-2 win.

Last time we beat them in a home league game... in the top flight = September 2006. Killen scored a double in a 2-1 win.

Cards on the table I think we have to end our disgraceful record against the zombies, in what's a dead rubber game for them.

Very surprised by that stat.

But yes, we’re winning

I think we can win tomorrow. First half against St Mirren and then up at Aberdeen last week (even if we didn’t win) has been as good as we’ve looked all season IMO.

we’ve had an awful run against them. Our record against them in the previous 4 years before that was pretty good.

hopefully tomorrow is the day.

Jesus, didn’t realise our record was that bad against them recently.

Results have gone against us today. Will take a top performance from the whole squad to get the win tomorrow. I’d go as far as say it would be our best result of the season.

Rangers will be a tough nut to crack - dead rubber or no. Still - I reckon if our current team plays to their potential then a win is not at all beyond them.

Bring it on :flag::flag::flag:

I thought we’d gone through a spell not that long ago where we had a few decent results against them, maybe cup games I’m just thinking about🙈

Of course we can beat them. We will need to be at our best for the whole ninety minutes though.

Don’t think we’ve a good enough team to do it. Hopefully we can cause a surprise and then build a team over the summer to do it more regularly.

Goalcoring is our problem but we have a decent chance today. The Horrible Huns have nothing to play for and the refs / officials are under less pressure to help them. The SFA / officials might even feel it's a game they could allow Hibs to win, against their natural instincts but Hibs need to want it badly enough.

Arguably the best chance we have had in a while.

I always find the bravado before these games a bit OTT in that people desperately play up the weaknesses of Celtic or Rangers and both downplay our own weaknesses and overplay our strengths. It inevitably leads to a backlash when a team of expensively assembled better players turn us over.

Today though I think there is a bit more reason to be hopeful. Rangers have a couple out injured, have been playing a few fringe players lately, have a couple who have downed tools a bit and have nothing to play for except pride. We need to keep that little bawbag Cantwell quiet, nullify him and I think we have a chance.

Hibs always do better when there is zero expectation on them, however that doesn’t seem to be the case this time round as we’re in good form so whilst hoping for a win history suggests it’s unlikely.

They annihilated us last time at ER - 4-1 going on 7 or 8. They are off the back of beating Celtc. Our performances at home v old firm this season have been dysmal. I'm not sure where any optimism is coming from. Praying I am wrong though.

Agree need to play like we played at parkhead last time keep it tight sit deep and hit on the break imo. Not a game to go toe to toe imo. All about picking up something.

Yip I would love a win and leaving the house in half an hour to head through but can't see us winning, hopefully I am wrong

We drew 2-2 at ER against them in August. We bossed the first half at Ibrox and were unlucky to lose 3-2. A poor Aberdeen side beat them at Pittodrie. That’s where my optimism is coming from.
Bring it on. :flag::flag::flag:

I'm an eternal optimist when it comes to following Sport, I always look to the positive so ll say yes we can definitely win but sometimes I let my heart rule my head

My overriding memories of Rangers at ER is conceding goal after goal and watching the Huns bouncing up and down with glee and bellowing out their bigoted ***** knowing full well that no one will do anything about it.

It is by far my least favourite Hibs fixture and I honestly dislike it in a way I don't about any other game.

I don't see today going any differently.

It feels like we are overdue a win against them, but hard to say that about any team with over 10x your playing budget and a referring system rigged entirely in their favour. There’s also the small matter of the gap in the table showing they are indeed, on average, a very superior team.

It’ll take a special performance from us today to get a result, but our team have shown enough glimpses (particularly second half of this season) that we have it in us to give them a game. Players like Youan and Nisbet are good enough to turn the game on their own. All we can do is make sure we show up and give it 100%.

This rangers team are pretty pish poor, they’re beatable. But, and it’s a big but, we’re hibs. 2-2 draw last minute rangers equaliser imo

I'd love a win but take a 5-5 draw with a 9th minute stoppage equaliser

Ignores the fact we horsed them regularly in the Championship.

Sadly we have now extended our diabolical run against the huns.

So this season we’ve finished -6 goal difference against Rangers and with 1 point out of 12. To be totally honest I thought it was going to be worse when I looked at it.

Against Celtic we are -11 with 0 points out of 9.

It’s sad to see how far we’ve (and the rest of the league) fallen from the Old Firm and hard to see how we get back to being able to regularly pick up points against them.

There’s a lot of clarity in hindsight but where did this belief come from that THIS Hibs team would be beating Rangers and Celtic? We haven’t really looked capable of doing that all season imo. Any result we get against Celtic on Wed will be a fluke more based on Celtic ‘not turning up’ rather than us turning up.

Hopefully we can build a team next season that can challenge the bigot brothers in games but we are a long way off at the moment from the kind of teams we had in the past that would do this.

It's frustrating that the games v the big two have become so consistently one-sided but losing to Motherwell, Livi, Ross County, St Johnstone, Killie and the Arabs (ie every side in the bottom six) has been the bigger problem this season.

Yeah I agree. Everyone else has been losing to the old firm as well so in that regard having a crap record hasn’t been as costly as it could have been.

Just a shame it’s went that way. Victory against the Old Firm used to be about as good as a derby victory. Now they simply don’t happen.
