It must have been on his mind.
Hopefully we got a decent fee?

I suspect he's decided neither the managers job nor the director of football job at Hibs are coming up anytime soon.
Done a decent job in his time here.

Going back to a simpler place and time is my guess.

He at least managed to get out with a bit of dignity and kept himself on the football admin gravy train for a while longer though a team recently bought at auction playing in front of 2,000 fans might be the bit you remove from future CV'S in a years time.
McDermott will swallow up his job as planned unless Lees dad gets sacked in which case the circle of mates is complete.
Very strange this, I was under the impression he was doing a good job and all was rosey, all those links with team’s previously like Dundee etc and he ends up going to Georgia

A bit disappointed with this. He’s been doing a good job and if LJ were to leave mid season for any reason we could have done a lot worse than Kean on a trial basis.

It seemed like he was doing a good job - I always felt like with his experience he would move on at some point. BK talks about the gap being bridged to the first team but we haven't really seen that play out on a Saturday though, not suggesting that's on SK.

Going against the grain a little. Is the good job based mainly on the U19s European run? He won’t be solely responsible, but there’s got to be some questions asked about the development team shambles, development team signings and the lack of any opportunities for the U19s this season. Lots of good ideas, some of which we’re rolling back on, but not much tangible results. Caveated against the fact youth development is unlikely to ever be an immediate impact.

Seemed to have done well enough, but having one manager and two ex managers at the club feels like a bit of overlap in terms of skills and experience, so makes sense that the DoF takes on this role.

A crazy left field move but he has my undying respect for it. I hope to hell this works out for him. He deserves to progress for taking this kind of risk. Balls of steel.

Don’t think so. Think he’s just going back to find what’s left of his world.

Good luck in the new job, done a good job with the u19s euro run and also an undefeated reserve campaign mixed in with some good results for the development team.

I was thinking of this too and maybe getting Lewis Stevenson's a role as well.

I'm not sure an unknown team in Georgia is a better thing...?

This was always going to be a risk when appointing someone like him to this position - I suspect most ex managers are still keen to get back to running a team sooner or later.
I wish him the best though, and with the new set up, hopefully it won't cause too many problems.

I can understand that, L.A. would've proved too much for the man.

Jury’s still out for me on our youth system until we start consistently developing promising youngsters into players that can actually impact on the first XI. I can only think of Porteous and Campbell in the last decade🤷🏼

Doig?
Developed at Hearts, we signed him when they let him go for and loaned him out. Much to the annoyance of many Jambos no doubt.

He was on a development loan, he still trained with Hibs. He left a much better player than when we signed him at 16, Hibs contributed to his development.

Stevenson had a lot to do with Doig's development, took him under his wing and name him better.
