Saw the attached image on the Hibernian Retro FB page, superb image and brings back many memories :) One of the comments states "corners next" do you think we will see the corners done at ER? I'd personally love it to be done and would really finish off our superb stadium! 26720

Let’s try filling what we’ve got first before we start worrying about putting seats in the corners.

Build it and they will come :)
ER would become an arena and a suitable venue for a big band to perform in. Filling in the corners would take the capacity to around 27K or more? So, an arena that could comfoprtably seat 20k fans for a gig would be amazing! First and foremost football but ER could be a multipurpose venue/arena.

And have the pitch ruined by the staging and everything else required for a big concert! No thanks.

The capacity is about right for us at the moment.

That model never actually became reality. At one point they must have been planning on doing the East before the West judging by that.

It's got to be one for the future, no way does our current attendances justify it. That said there is potential in terms of corporate facilities there? Got to admit, the ground would look superb and adding another 3000 plus seats would be useful, if we can put a decent side on the park for a sustained period of time. Football first at the moment though.

I like it how it is. There’s too many soulless bowls in football

We can’t even manage a sustained week of success right now 😂

Is the smaller end not the West main stand?

I remember that. Glad we didn't go with those plans. I love the single tier east stand now.

I don't think there's room to do any of the corners.
North West has the road.
North East, I suspect wouldn't get planning permission, ditto South East.
South West, might have space, but that's the bus access point etc... and I don't think we own that land.

NW and SE would have to be pretty small, maybe even less than the lower tier of the 3 older stands. NE could be full size, SW at least a single tier of lower tier size.

Sure it's been mentioned before.
Can't join the FF onto the West due to the ticket office being a listed building.

It is so that new stand is the East and it is double tier. So that plan shows that the East was to be two tiered and done before the West.

There's also issues with the road layout at both ends at the FF/West and South/East corners (which is why there are cut off bits on the top tiers of the FF/South Stands)

Would look incredible but totally unnecessary at this point in time.

I'm not so sure it would look incredible due my previous post. It would probably end up looking a bit lop sided and you'd probably have to have crappy looking walls ala the small end at the Aviva and bits of the Amex.

For me it would be a standing section in the FF lower for Block 7, but I can't see that happening any time soon so no chance of the corners being done...

The issue before was that the club didn't own the building. It was owned by STF.
That's no longer the case. It's owned by the club.

Rather money was spent wisely on the Park than filling in the corners. Once it’s full house every week then the corners should be considered.

Potential to buy the property (old warehouses) at the back of the South East corner to allow a full size similar to the North East

Should we ever need to, could you do what has been done at Ivrox and leave the main stand alone? I am not sure if it is possible to connect the East to the other two stands but could be an option.
When the city group buy us, it’s only a matter of time really.
In some dystopian future, could an extension like Anfield has been given/is underway be a more viable option? Higher East and West stands?
