Good news for all parties. Lewis has been excellent this season and certainly looks like he can contribute for another year. Hoping O.McIntyre gets a chance next season and we can see lewy used in a similar manner as to when Doig was coming through leading a natural succession in the LB position over the next 18-24 months.

He’s been outstanding whenever he’s played this season - looks like he’s got a new lease of life (always of course been consistent). Delighted with this - a club legend.

Hopefully the terms reflect his contribution to the club over his lengthy time here.

There’s probably a hint of James Milner about him.

Play him anywhere and his ability, fitness, professionalism and tenacity will see him do a job.

What a man, still performing very well at this level and think he's a great guy to have around the club, with him and Hanlon there is no better example of what it means to be a professional for the young lads to learn from

The manager is pleased with the new deal and says Lewis is ‘exactly the kind of person we want at this football club.’

Character and personal commitment is so important, Lewis’ influence goes beyond what he does on the pitch. I hope young players see his attitude and application as setting the standard. We’re a professional sports team and need our players to be absolute professionals. Talent alone is never enough.

seems to me that Lewis throughout his career has dedicated himself to bettering himself technically, fitness and game-wise. If only others would have that consistent dedication to improving as an athlete and player. I think thats how we take steps compete with the Glasgow 2.

Expect Cabraja to move on.

Just another one to add to the lengthy list that hasn't been able to outperform Lewis over a season.

Doig the only one and he was given plenty of rope to improve, as well as Lewis' support.

Congratulations to Lewis on his new contract. The guy epitomises everything good about our club. He's a fantastic professional in every sense of the word, a double cup winning legend and still remains a very good left back. A good decision by our management team, the challenge is whether we can find someone good enough to compete for a place in the team, sadly I don't see Cabraja as being that man.

Delighted at the news. He still looks super fit and is probably stronger now than he has ever been. Yes, it would be nice to have Lewis as just a backup but it isn't easy to find someone that is better than him unless you spend a decent wedge. He should have played far more this season as he is far better than anyone else at the club in that role. I hope we can get McIntyre into the team in a similar way we did with Doig and have Lewis there to guide and support and also be on the park when needed. That isn't next year though, from what I have seen of McIntyre, but the year after. That has more to do with Oscar's size than ability as when Doig came in he was already a big, strong lad whose athletic ability was superb. Lewis looks to have at least a couple of seasons left at this level

He looked decent in the first few games and to be honest he's not had the best of times recently.

Would wish him no harm and good luck if we can move him on, even a mutual consent.

I think says a lot about Lewis that the only person to really oust him properly as a proper nailed on starting left back went on to play in Serie A after being sold for a couple million. We've been lucky to have him all these years.

https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hibs/tale-of-two-hibs-signings-as-lee-johnson-waxes-lyrical-about-importance-of-double-deal-4139504

Good interview from Johnson. He speaks about Lewy's character and fitness levels, saying he brings more to the side than just his consistent level of performance.

"“What you’re seeing is a good footballer moving towards the end of his career, but I actually think still progressing. He’s out there doing every minute of every session, I think he’s got one of our highest rates of training ratios. He hasn’t lost any legs, therefore he can still offer on and off the pitch. That’s important. If you re-sign someone in the twilight of their career they need to add value to the playing squad or to the development squad or everywhere in between, and I think that’s something this club has been brilliant at".
