Think Johnson deserved enormous credit for the job he’s done with Elie. Still frustrates the life out of you but the work he puts in is surely down to LJ. Massive asset when he plays like that.

Man of the Match by far today. Couldn’t believe Fish was given it. Tremendous work today but some frustrating wrong decisions made going forward.

I never thought he was effective as normal today. I like him normally but didn’t think he was particularly good today.

I agree with the sponsor decision to give MOTM to Fish.

Youan was good first half but I thought he fell well out of things second half and would have been taken off had we had anyone capable of coming on. That really hindered us second half IMO. Needed to change it but quality on the bench so lacking.

I’d be looking to get him signed if we can though. Good player with loads of room for improvement.

Think Fish and Youan deserved motm. BBC gave Youan motm

I thought Youan started really well but made some terrible decisions throughout the game. Very good finish for his goal and actually worked back really well a couple of times but posted missing far more often. He is a work in progress but he really has lots of assets that could take him a very long way in the game. Nisbet for me was MOTM with Newell and Fish not far behind.

I didn't think Youan was great today. Made a lot of poor decisions and lost the ball a lot. The latter is always going to happen when you try the things he did but, 15-20 minutes aside, there wasn't the usual pay off. Tbf to him I thought he contributed more defensively today and there was no lack of effort on his part. He wanted to be involved

I thought Fish, Newell and Egan Riley were ahead of him for the motm award.

100% agree.

Youan is a constant threat and most teams looks terrified of him. Was also brilliant to see him tracking back and making slide tackles today, I actually think he’s better defensively than some give him credit for with the amount of times he picks up loose balls or makes an interception.

The 1 on 1 I was delighted with as at times I think he’s been poor in that position but it was a great finish with real composure. Some of his link up play and 1-2’s were very good too.

Pay the 400k and get him signed.

If Boyle was fit all season I’d be confident a front 3 of him, Nisbet and Youan would all get 10 goals minimum.

Now 7 goals and 7 assists in 32 games for Youan after a relatively slow start, really look forward to see what he does next season.

He was good in parts, but we know he’s a lot better than we saw today.

Great awareness and determination to win the ball to run one on one, and a very cool finish. (A bit too cool maybe as I thought it was going to sneak by the other side of post!)

Love watching him play, and while it doesn’t always come off for him as we saw at times today, it doesn’t prevent him from persevering and trying again with flamboyant football.

He was down the pecking order a few slits for MOTM today for me.

If you remember back to the one of the Rangers game, when he was lazy and didn't track back. To how he performed today and change is unbelievable

I like him there are moments I wonder if signing him permanently is the right thing to do though his final ball/decision making is pretty poor for that money could we get better? His goal was superb though read the pass well intercepted and away with a great finish

I didn't think today was his best day and a couple times his final ball was really poor but was a great composed finish and he worked really hard with a great tackle to win the ball back at one point.

I do still think we need to have him here for next season as Youan and Boyle would be exciting.

Youan can be quite frustrating but that's why he's here and we have an opportunity of signing him permanently, he needs a club around our level so can develop and iron out the less appealing aspects of his game, this season has been a bit of a battle of wills with him but he's getting there and I think it makes sense to get him in fulltime, I think he has all the attributes to be a success in Scotland if we can just coach it out of him which I think we've seen we can as the season's progressed.

He won’t be here in 3 or 4 years time.

Good managers get headhunted, bad or average managers get sacked.

That’s not a criticism of him at all, it’s just a reality of a managerial position in Scotland just now.

Thought he was great today, my MOTM also. Quieter 2nd half but still had some great link up play with Newell and his tracking back was impressive too. Would love to see him and Boyle on the flanks for us next season.

He was mom by a mile, most dangerous up front and did a huge amount of defending. Only Hibs player getting any pass marks after that horrendous second half display.

Horrendous is a wee bit of an exaggeration no? I'd go as far as saying a big exaggeration. As is the idea that no other players deserve any credit from the second half.

Seriously ? The amount of times he nicked the ball of St mirren defenders , the ground he covered and the goal . He was excellent , easily 1 of our best players

Was no where near horrendous. Looked like we ran out of steam a bit but didn’t have the quality on the bench that manager trusted. Would have brought Miller on for Cadden earlier who looks like he runs out of steam more than previously

Thought Fish getting MoM was the right call. Won absolutely everything in the air, scored a goal and made a few outstanding tackles. One in particular when St Mirren were bombing forward on a counter.

Ellie was good as well though and I'll be chuffed if we make the deal permanent.

I wouldn't, it was more Hanlon imo. Hanlon's Achilles heel has always been his flat footedness in the air, he rarely gets off the ground. Hanlon was caught under the ball and Fish was slightly slow to react. It was a poor goal to lose.

Hanlon lost a header to a big centre forward. Fish was sleeping and let his man away, that is worse defending to me. Lewis was out of position too as he deeper than the centre halves. Poor defending all round.

I thought Fish played quite well, but I probably would have given MOM to Youan who in the first half at least was excellent going forward and tackling back when needed too. Nisbet was good as well, I'd have put both of them ahead of Fish today because he was at least partly responsible for the St Mirren goal.

Main is always going to win a few headers against anyone. Fish played very well but went forward instead of back at the goal. He will learn from that I would think. Both him and Hanlon are playing very well just now.

Agreed, they look a very good partnership. Fish has been excellent especially after teh disaster he had at Tiny. Youan, Egan Riley and Fish all look to have very bright futures

You can only sell a player that belongs to us

Youan was my MOM he worked hard, got his goal and tracked back.

I thought the whole team were brilliant first half, in-particular Youan but also Nisbet for the pressing game they played, I thought that was exceptional, I can understand Youan getting MOTM based on his goal it was taken well and a result of his pressing high up the pitch but I thought he faded in the second half, so on balance I would have gave MOTM to Fish, not an easy game to pick a MOTM because I also thought Egan Riley and Newall had excellent games and were contenders.

"He can frustrate the life out of us at times, he drives you up the wall but he's also got that real threat about him and can peg a team back and he can run all day. He's got quite unique attributes so we just need to keep developing him. He's still young. If he put it all together we wouldn't have him. That's what we've got to try and do before we sell him!"

I worry that Elie won’t stay with us after his loan expires. I worry that some Hibs fans aren’t fussed by this and don’t see his potential.

I truly wonder what some people see when they watch football, and what they want.

He obviously isn’t the finished article. He’s also obviously a real cut above.

His potential is massive.

For him to be quite far from what he clearly could be yet still be as effective a player as he is is really quite something.

Nisbet seems likely to be away this summer, like it or not.

I hope we invest the proceeds wisely.
