Just one thing I noticed. You both say we should have gone for it and tried to win, but didn’t give any attention to the fact opening up against an extra man could’ve caused us to lose the game at the same time and we’d be sitting 6th.

True, but equally causing St Johnstone no problems and just inviting them onto us almost cost us as well - we should have tried to win the game, imho - when it’s on a knife edge we could have easily gone behind and then had a mountain to climb, and equally there was always the risk of Livi turning their result around. Luckily neither happened and we made it, but i think we should have been able to attack without going kamikaze and leaving ourselves wide open.

Matty , you mentioned lack of creativity in the middle of the park . Do you think we had a creative midfielder on in Saturday? I've watched the likes of Mckirdy and Youan make good runs in behind defender's this season and more time's than not there's not even a pass attempted to them .Feel we are badly needing a Scotty Allan type midfielder tbh.

Not on Saturday, and I’m not sure who’s fit and available that would fill that gap.

Well done Matty and Colin, enjoyed it again.

With regards to an alternative team to suggest that Colin has asked about the last couple of games, for me the alternative for certain games is to play two up front. I know McKirdy has had a fair bit grief however i think at some point he should be tried up front rather than on the wing. He was signed as a striker and Swindon fan that posts on here said at the time if he was played up front he would do well, if he was played out wide he was bang average. We’ve paid money for him as a striker but refused to give him an opportunity there.

That’s a more attacking solution that has been there the last couple of weeks that’s not been considered.

(I actually agreed with the team on Saturday, I wouldn’t have changed a winning side)

Currently with the available fit players we have the only one I think that is crafty enough to play as a 10 is Nizzy, you can see when he drops deep that he has it in his locker, that would take away our main goal threat and you couldn't even really attempt it unless big Myk was fit either

Cheers, I got the logic of keeping the winning team and we’ve advocated it enough on the podcast so I’m fine with that, hindsight is brilliant though, and i do wonder if there was a team better equipped for that specific match on Saturday.

Short of McKirdy, as you say, we didn’t really have many options to change it though.

That’s pretty much spot on, i think.

Is that not meant to be Newell? Especially with proper protection behind him in Jeggo.

I don't know , can't recall Many Defense splitting passes from him tbh with you , I have seen both Mckirdy and Youan making good runs in behind defender's and looking for a pass without getting it though . It's the reason I asked Matty when he mentioned we lacked creativity in midfield . For me this has been one of our problems in midfield this season , just my opinion though.
