Really? I think Fish and Hanlon have been really good, I wouldn’t change that partnership

Yes imo ! Fish and Hanlon have been really good though I thought against Dundee Utd a lack of experience on Will Fish's part cost us a penalty ( like the guy not me having ago btw ) ,. Fish is 19 or 20 and Hanlon 33 and played a few bruising games of late and the more players we get back the better and Rocky is imo a good player who we have missed !

Maybe they have , though I'd rather Hibs had a full squad of players to choice from and imo rocky is one of our better players.

I'm ashamed to say I'd honestly forgotten about him. Great to have him back.

We've had some terrible luck with injuries this season.

Been our best defender this season. Remember the manager saying he was behind developmentally but his potential was massive, think he said he needed a few hundred hours training to get up to scratch. It seemed spot on as the improvement was spectacular from last season. A young player who can go far

Competition for places is a great thing. Results might have improved without him in the squad but other factors at play there, he’d always be the first CB I’d pick if fully fit. Also needs to be remembered Fish might only have 6 more games left for us when his loan deal expires, CJ in the same boat, Devlin only on a short term deal, and Hanlon despite his derby heroics hasn’t had a great season when fit.

Another player I thought naw but was proved wrong

I enjoy being proved wrong

Definitely a starter for me next season

We all want every player in a Hibs jersey to do well

The only thing we ask is 100% commitment and desire for the cause and to be the best they can be

Hanlon has had one of his best seasons for a while despite a shaky start.

Rocky wouldn’t get near my team unless injury forces it. On the whole, Fish and Hanlon have played really well together.

They have though I'd still rather Rocky back pushing them for a starting place . Against Dundee Utd when Hanlon was out we could really have done with Rocky in the team imo.

We'll be in real bother if he is a regular starter next season. I'm hoping for 2 new CBs next season and then we can have Hanlon as a squad player & Rocky for emergency periods.

Why? Until he got injured he was playing well

Individually he looked ok but as a team we didn’t defend as well in my view. I don’t mind Rocky now as a squad player but if he’s seen as the longer term solution I’d be worried

Warming the bench at Ferencváros.

Would appear he’s not the goalie he used to be.

I agree with you mate, I would say he looked OK in comparison to his end to the prev season. The team were definitely not performing better though, we only won 3 of the 15 games he has played this year. Not that it's all his fault entirely though.

The keeper ahead of him is club captain and an international.

No way is Rocky out first pick CB. Some may not like it but a fit Paul Hanlon will always be our first pick CB. And it’s odd that you don’t think he’s had a good season. That’s got to be a deep rooted bias about the player to think that. And I say that as someone who obviously has a bias in the other direction. Hanlon & Fish have been our best pairing. By miles.

Have we really been getting better results since he became injured?

If anything has improved us defensively, it's the addition of Jeggo who protects them.

Like others have noted, I would have big reservations about Bushiri being a starter next season - if he was playing for Hearts I'd be looking to target him in all honestly, improved from last season yes - however that is a very low bar

Hanlon and another for me next year please

Hanlon had a very ropey run of form around the turn of the year but I’m delighted he’s turned it around as I agree with you.

The tendency to under-appreciate him is bizarre.

Although results improved with him out of the team (both times), I also think he’s our best defender. Different variables though. Porteous isn’t here any more. I don’t think they complemented each other.

At the moment, since Fish and Hanlon are playing well, he needs to wait until one is injured/suspended/in poor form.

If we play a 3 at the back, I’d definitely put him in once he’s match fit. I’m not a fan of CJER at centre half (brilliant at RB and midfield) so Rocky definitely plays in a 3 (I also think Rocky is better in a 3 than a 4).

I like Rocky as a player and when he’s been fit I do think he’s got a shout at being our best defender this season. I do think the defence has looked more solid without him though.

The “variables” comment is fair. No Porteous, paired with Hanlon, with a respectable DM (or 2) playing in front of them and I can’t think of any good reason why Rocky shouldn’t continue to improve and for that to be a solid defence. He might also be shown up a bit by having the defensively suspect Cadden on his side.

I think Rocky would suit the position Akanji plays for Man City. I'd like to see Hibs completely tighten up the right side. No more Cadden at RB.

I really dont understand people who dont rate him. Hes quick, strong, can tackle, great in the air, still young and learning.

I think if he was an academy player from the local area people would be raving about him.

Might kick on now that he doesn’t have to cover for Porto 😂

He is still pretty young and more improvement to come hopefully. He has a lot of good attributes and hoping he can still make a good contribution next season.

He’s not particularly great on the ball, that’s probably why some folk have reservations about him. If he can continue to improve that side of his game, he will have a good future at Hibs.

Rocky has improved massively on his performances from last season. It's easy to say Hanlon and Fish are the better pairing but Rocky was playing alongside Porteous who was struggling for spells and making basic mistakes week in week out. Hanlon and Fish also now have Jeggo in front which alleviates the pressure on the CB's. Happy to continue with the status quo but I'd like to see Rocky pushing to get back in the squad. Has all the right attributes and unlike most of the players we've brought in he's actually showed signs of improvement.

Absolutely not, I like Hanlon, probably not a strong enough word in fact, but his poor start to the season can’t be discounted because he’s improved a bit. As for ‘has to be deep rooted bias’…..Get a grip. Maybe you should accept not everyone has the same opinion as you.

I thought he was playing really well before getting injured , he's a big physical defender who's pretty quick and likes to drive forward with the ball like Porto and Ambrose did ! Good player imo and will be good to have him back for the final few games .

I think we have looked a better defensive unit without players such as Rocky and Porteous driving out of defence with the ball
