Keep the same team or bring Campbell back in perhaps?
Hopefully Nisbet is okay.

I'd bring Campbell in for Jeggo, but Newell was excellent at CAM so I'd understand if he goes with the same team.

Difficult to make any changes after the weekend.
Different game though and different things might be needed. We could really be doing with a bit more creativity middle to front but we don’t really have that in the squad just now so I’d probably be inclined to just go with the same again.

Same team for me. They deserve to keep their place. Even though I want Myko starting

After how they all played it should be the same team.
Completely different game against st Johnstone as I imagine they’ll be a lot deeper and negate the ball over the top that we used so well.

Same starting 11, has to be.
More importantly, the same aggression and desire.

Spot on, no point showing up like that last Saturday if we don't back it up this weekend.

Can we not please?
JDH - Newell - Campbell has been tried and tested and rarely worked.

Would find a way to get Campbell and Kuharevich in there somewhere. Will need it for their physical play.
That said, the manager will have a hard time justifying dropping anyone after that.

On the basis that Hibs get more of possession of the ball than against hertz, it's likely there will be a change or two tactically.
St J usually sit in and play long, a totally different game to last Saturday where LJ was happy to let hertz have it in their own half and get it forward quickly on turnover.

I totally get what you're saying but I really hope there isn't a change tactically.
We need to move the ball as quick as we did on Saturday. It's by a mile the best way to score goals in this league. Our biggest issue this season has been taking too long on the ball in defence and midfield.
With them having Maclean in charge he might opt to play a different style to Davidson

Don't think we blindly go with the same side, we've tried that against st Johnstone before.
Might go a bit more offensive. If they sit keep, Saturdays team will struggle to break them down.

I wouldn’t be opposed to Campbell for Jeggo, but otherwise unchanged.

Maybe bring Josh in for Jake/Jeggo a bit more attacking threat one thing they must be up for it from the start just like our superb support will be making plenty noise 🇳🇬

I’d be inclined to go 352.
Might need to have 2 strikers against a deep lying defence.

I’d get Cadden back to RB, bring Campbell in for CJ
Also not too keen on JDH keeping his place despite his excellent showing at the weekend. We’ll need him to get forward if he does play

Stick with the same team. Take the chances and we will be fine.

I'm concerned that Hearts played right into our hands and a more defensively stout team will be really difficult to break down with a team who are primarily set up to win a midfield battle / overpower the defence. We'll need to be prepared to switch things up early if the game turns into a slog.

Youan's pace has caused teams trouble at times, I wonder if we maybe drop JDH or Jeggo and play Myko as the CF with Youan and Nisbet either side?

I would expect St J to defend in a 5 and be really deep so maybe not enough space in behind for him to use his pace?
A 343 with the front 3 you mentioned could work too 👍🏼
Got a feeling we will start in the same 4141 shape with the same team as hearts game though.

Same team as Saturday for me. Very capable of winning the game and robust enough not to lose it. We will get plenty of the ball and the players are there to use it. JDH can play a bit further forward from the off.

I want us to get Nisbet, Myko and Youan in the same team. They would be a right handful. Maybe a 4-3-1-2 type formation, pretty sure either of them could play the 10 so they could rotate.

I thought Hibs pressed Hearts as soon as the centre halves gave it wide. They got nowhere near our half with the ball without pressure. It was a sensible press though and although I get the point that St Js are a different team(might not be without Davidson) I think that type of press is what we are promised and I want to see it more. Hearts possession was not in areas that would hurt us and we got the ball back in good areas quite a few times

Can see why some would want a few changes as St Johnstone will probably try keep it tight and frustrate us as sometimes we do find it difficult to break down these kind of teams.
Would be Happy with the same as Saturday and can always change it if needed.

This is where I am. It’s really important in the context of our season that we do not get beat and the starting line up has more than enough about it to get the win.
We have struggled for a few weeks. Find a team that won a game and folk want to change it.

I'd be happy with the same team as well . I wonder will we change our style of play though , we played more direct with a lot of long balls in behind the hertz defense , I'd imagine St Johnstone will sit in more .

Anyone else getting really worried about this?
I sometimes think we get a bit ahead of ourselves at times after a win - suppose you’ve got to enjoy it at the same time!
I know it’s social media and they need to promote us etc and create a buzz, but whenever the social media team tend to milk it we tend to lose the following game and look a bit silly.
If we lose and fail to get top 6 we’ll look silly.
Obviously every team will be like this, it’s just highlighted more for me being a Hibby!

Nae point in worrying about it. Saturday was brilliant, on the back of multiple disappointments this season so we’re right to make the most of it.
The problems we have haven’t suddenly disappeared on the back of it and there is every chance they’ll resurface on Saturday. But, we just need to find a way to win the game. That’s what we did on Saturday because, as good as we were, there was still a real lack of quality at times. But, if they just go out and graft the same way is they did on Saturday then we have every chance of having a successful end to the season.

Everyone at our club at a high after the weekends result. Everyone at St Johnstone at a low after their recent form and losing their double cup winning manager.
We should win, I know they have been a bogey team for us but if we go a goal up early doors on Saturday I think we can score a few.

That was our biggest issue under Ross and Maloney but doesn't apply at all to Johnson's team - in terms of how fast the ball is moved vertically up the pitch when in possession we are the second most direct team in the league behind st mirren.

Agree with mwhibbies just because you win a derby every game should be looked on individually not big changes but personally don’t need JDH and Jeggo for Saturday we’ll have more possession probably so in my opinion swap one of them for say Josh or bring in Myko for either of them need to win draw no good on Saturday

I hear you but I would start the same team as Hearts game.
We have five subs so it can be changed if not working.
It's ok saying we will have more possession but JDH and Jeggo are part of the reason we might have more possession.

St Johnstone is the best priced away day by far if you have kids. Hopefully we do the cheap ER tickets again when we play them next season as a thanks (assuming we're top six).

I get where both sides are coming from here and I'm not quite sure what I'd do were I Johnson as nobody deserves dropped after the derby, but I'm worried that a midfield three of Jeggo JDH and Newell, which was perfect for winning the battle in a derby, will be far too negative on the ball and not creative enough to break down a deep low block defense.
Garymcl

Correct two things about Josh first he will be everywhere on park so that covers the battling in midfield but also likes to score now and again in a way it’s a nice problem for once for the boss good players on the bench also heard Rocky is back training need everybody for tough run in starting on Saturday at Perth cmon the hi bees :flag:

We should forget the concept of players being dropped after a win. Different players for different opponents will be more and more common.
