Nope. They destroyed them 6-1 on aggregate in the play offs. 3-1 at Ibrox and 3-0 at Fir Park.
The radio were claiming they hadn’t won at Ibrox at all since the 90s.

Motherwell are now Sportsounds choice as major top six contenders. The way they were bumming them up when I was in the car after the game I had to check when I got home that we were two points ahead of them with a game in hand.Obviously they are preferred to Hibs and Dundee as upstarts from the East.

Talking up Motherwell is also a way to downplay the Huns defeat yesterday when in reality the Huns at Ibrox playing anyone other than their fellow Ugly Sister is pretty much a guaranteed home win.

Richard Gordon is a one man demonstration of why BBC Scotland's football coverage needs a complete clear out.
They pretend to be independent commentators.
The truth is they play a significant role in setting perceptions about what is going on in the Scottish game (eg Boyle is a diver etc).
The reality is that they are fans with microphones pursuing barely disguised agendas.

Seems to have a high opinion of himself - the reality is in stark contrast.

Which is to be fair understandable but you’d think the point of getting punters on is to get a “at the game perspective”?
Not sure the point of it otherwise…it’s the post-match results show.

What if the folk phoning in for the different clubs had watched the game and talked to folk at the game? I watched Man City in the Champions League last week and could have spoken about the game straight after it no bother. It's not like years ago when you couldn't watch a game.

That's not what they said. I listened to it, there was no mention that they were at the game or not, the presenter asked about the low crowd and they said that it was reported there were only 200 tickets sold at one point. They were asked about the review and the manager, which they could have answered if they'd seen the game or not.
I get it is all about personal opinion and that but for the life of me I can't think what difference it would have made to that segment of the caller had watched the game in the stadium, at home, or not at all.

Reckon it was based on looking at behind the goal only. Most fans were in the main stand. Not sure where BBC would have had their live stream into their studio showing- is the camera gantry in the main stand? Think it is.

It’s a pretty damning indictment that Alan Preston is our strongest ally on the BBC, and I say that with no ill will intented at all to Preston, who comes across as an honest enthusiast for East coast/Edinburgh football, and is genuinely interested in Hibs despite his allegiances elsewhere.
Having a Hearts supporter fighting our corner is still better than the general disinterest from the likes of your Packy Bonner’s and Willie Miller’s and their one club centric mindset that blights the Sportsound output.

I know you said it's your last post on it, and I respect it's just an opinion so rather than argue something that's completely trivial (on the internet as well!!) I'll just point out again that no fan from any club is claiming to represent fans - that's a misrepresentation of the situation..
I think folk get invited on, as well, rather than phoning up to say they'll speak for every fan.

I wasn’t at the game today so have nothing at all to contribute to the match discussions but will enjoy reading from those that were there on a decent away win.
If a fan is going to be on the radio to discuss a Hibs game then it’s not unreasonable to expect them to have actually been there.

He didn’t actually say that. I think he said there were rumours that players were being signed by others at the club as has been discussed on here often enough, and I don’t think Monty has ever came out and said that is not the case. He did say this week that there were too many players that have been signed that are contributing next to nothing to the club and moving them on was going to be an issue to be addressed in the summer.

As others have said the Sportsound guys were thinking all the Hibs supporters were behind the goal.
As those of us that go to games know, away supporters are also in the away end of the main stand and this is where those who want a side on view of the game want to be. There were about 700 Hibs supporters at yesterdays game.
As for the Hibs supporter on Sportsound postmatch. It is clearly an invitation, last thing BBC want is an incoherent angry dafty on the airwaves.
Sometimes Matty of this parish and Longbangers Hibs podcast has been invited and yesterday it was his sidekick Colin. I've also seen some of Matty's scribblings appear on the BBC. Given the content of the discussion on Sportsound yesterday it did not require Colin to have been at the game given the vast majority of it wasn't related to yesterdays game.

Kenny MacIntyre took over Saturday Sportsound from Richard Gordon almost 2 years ago.
Gordon became and is Head of Media and Communication at Cove Rangers which sounds like a nothing job.
He still does midweek Sportsound shows and to my mind is a classier and better listen than the populist tabloid approach of MacIntyre which is tiresome.
