Exactly 365 days ago we lost at Tynecastle which confirmed bottom six and left us with a season-defining derby the following weekend. Plenty wanted the manager gone and few (perhaps rightly) gave us a chance in that derby at Hampden.

Today we lost at Tannadice and opened up a real possibility of bottom six football and now our season once again hinges on next weekend’s derby. Plenty want the manager gone and not many people give us a chance in next week’s derby. Perhaps they’ll be proven right too.

The SPFL seem to have settled into a pattern of an early derby, a New Year derby and an April derby. So what’s to say this won’t happen again next year?

How do we get Hibs out of this feeling of Groundhog Day? If you want Lee Johnson to go then fair enough. I don’t like him much and I think even our winning runs are streaky. But what do we put in place to stop a repeat of this? Because I can’t be the only one who is getting sick of it.

we should be due an upturn to be honest.

I started in the early 90s and a few terrible seasons were followed by a couple of good ones in the mid 90s. Then another few bad ones (culminating in relegation) were followed by a few good ones under mcleish. Another good couple of years with the kids in the mid 00s preceded a long period of crap and another relegation, then a good four year period under Stubbs and Lennon. Since then, apart from Ross’s 3rd place in the tedious supporter-less covid season it’s been awful.

the life of a Hibs supporter.

enjoy the good days when they come because the only certainty is they won’t last.
