Don't know if anyone knew Paul, but got some terribly sad news earlier today that he had died suddenly from late diagnosed pancreatic cancer.

Paul and my dad were mates for 50+ years and I got to know Paul standing on the corner of the old east terrace and covered 'cave' end. He was a season ticket holder in the west stand from day one and sat next to my dad there ever since.

Paul was one of Europe's finest Sanskrit scholars and retired from Edinburgh University a few years ago. I was honoured to be with him on that day in 2016 when we finally beat that hoodoo. He was one of the kindest and knowledgeable people you could ever meet.

Rest in peace Paul.

Didn't know Paul that well, but enjoyed his company and shared some good Hibs days with him. RIP.

Paul Dundas taught me whilst I was at University of Edinburgh. As you rightly say, an incredibly intelligent and knowledgeable man.

Did not realise he was a Hibs man. There were a few lecturers there at the time (1996-2000) I knew were, used to chat football with some of them in the pubs.

Sorry to hear this. RIP.

I’m so incredibly shocked and sad to read about Paul’s death. I can’t believe it. My Dad and I spoke with Paul and Mike at every home game for years. I will cherish the memories of defeats bemoaned and victories celebrated.
