What time do the clocks change?

They go forward at 1am now. Has that always been the case?

I seem to remember in my student days (10-15 years ago), it was 2am it went forward.

Likewise it went back at 2am in October.

I was just assuming midnight but now you mention it, I’m sure it was 2am right enough!

I thought it was 2am as well but Google suggests it has always been 1am for going forward and 2am for going back in October.

When it first happened years ago some people stayed up to alter their clocks at 2 am and then went to bed.

It was definitely 1.00 am. I was awake in bed and I saw the clock change from 12.59 to 2.00.

It's been 0100hrs for the last 25+ years that I can remember. I used to be responsible for advancing/******ing the clocks at Waverley & Haymarket station and it was always 0100 going forward, 0200 going back.

Edit: swear filter kicked in for using a word meaning to delay or hold back, but was also used to describe folk with additional learning needs 🤔
