Good result at the weekend but can’t help thinking Nisbet will come in. Maybe Myko too.

What do folk think will be starting XI?

That should be the team IMO. Hoppe looks better equipped for this game than Henderson.

That's how I would go although Hoppe has done a decent job.

Normally I would be against shaking up a winning team/formation but I do worry about our full backs for this one. Although he steadied as the game went on it won’t be lost on them that Cabraja was targeted at the weekend and we did lose a goal from it.

I’d be tempted to go 3-5-2 for this one so the centre halves can come across and provide extra cover/plug any gaps in between CH and Full back. Would be a risk if it were to backfire though.

Is it possible to change the title to "Team Vs The Rangers" as Rangers were liquidated in 2012. Thanks 🙂

*My dad says I need to move on but I don't seem to be able to 😂

Stevenson in for Cabraja, Nisbet in and Henderson to drop out with Hoppe dropping back into his position.

Not sure i would risk Devlin in this game and playing a back 5 and 2 defensive midfielders is a bit too negative at home.

Playing Egan-Riley as the right sided centre back, Fish in the middle and Hanlon on the left means he can cover right back when Cadden bombs forward making it a back 4 or he could push into a defensive midfield spot and push Youan up alongside Nisbet if needed.

I wouldn’t be changing shape at all. The players all look like they know what they’re doing at the moment and I wouldn’t unsettle things. Remember he did it against Rangers earlier in the season and had to make a double sub after 25 minutes because we’d barely had a touch of the ball. Similarly, changed a couple of things when we went to Parkhead on a good run and we know how that turned out.

Trust the players to go toe to toe with them on Wednesday and go after them right from the start.

Any news on Newall? I think if fit he's straight back in, no idea if Magennis is close

Why? We’ve never been so well balanced in midfield for a few years.

He’s certainly not been missed.

It’s only been 2 games. I’m not suggesting Newell should come straight back in but he’ll have a massive part to play for the rest of the season. Offers things that Jeggo and Egan-Riley don’t.

Creativity. Newell averages more key passes than any of our midfielders (I’m counting Boyle as a forward). And more than any Hearts or Aberdeen midfielder for example this season.

I am looking for a team that can at least compete with the hun and perhaps win most of the personal battles.
Just hope that Lee can put such a team on the park for us.

I think we will see Nisbet come in for Henderson and then the same other 10 from Saturday.

I still think Cabraja has his moments so wouldn't be surprised to see Lewis in maybe.

Zombies will be out in force so its up to the players and our fans to keep them quiet, will be a tough 90 minutes but don't see it being as easy as the huns at tynie or celtic vs us at Easter Road.

Thought at inbox we was unlucky with a couple mishaps at the back and the pen not giving, I fancy us getting a result. Even if a draw.

Joe Newell has a near monopoly over set pieces when he plays, he doesn’t make a lot of key passes from open play. He only has one league assist from open play this season and that was his hail mary punt upfield for Nisbet’s equaliser against Dun Utd. Excluding set pieces he averages less per90 than Boyle, McGeady, Myko, Henderson, JDH, Cadden and Youan.

But more than Jeggo and Egan-Riley.

And he takes set pieces. So as I said, he offers things that Jeggo and Egan Riley don't. Happy to have they 2 in midfield tomorrow night but when we play Motherwell at home for example, I'd personally rather Newell is back in.

I think Cabraja is suspended is he not? He has had 6 bookings, the last one against Killie in February, not sure why he wasn't suspended on Saturday but you'd think he'll definitely be out on Wednesday, no?

No. There is an explanation on the "Discipline" thread.

Sure it resets after a certain point. So might be ok.

Resets after 19 games. He had 5 at that point and got his 6th after it reset so for suspensions purposes he’s back to 1 booking.

Think Henderson could be important with his vision and forward passing hence why he’s in instead of Hoppe.

Stevenson potential in for Cabraja if LJ is wanting a better defender but I think Cabraja’s use of the ball and ability to play balls over the top/in behind could be really important.

Im a bit wary about tonight. LJ has been not shy about saying we will be having ago at them etc, etc.

I still dont think he appreciates the gulf between the OF and the rest. Best to keep all comments under the radar for theses games and not give them any "Ammo" for motivation.

This isn’t Rangers first visit to Easter Road, they know we’ll be having a go at them.

I wouldn't change shape either, I think the players have worked well with the new shape. It is also pretty much the formation Rangers and Celtic use, so it will match up across the pitch. We just then have to want it more...

Same team for me unless some of them are showing signs of fatigue. Most of the Hibs players haven't played with three days rest for a while. One guy I'd leave in the team is Henderson. He's played really well the last couple of weeks and I wouldn't want to drop his confidence by putting him on the bench.

There's a gulf to Celtic. We've more than competed with the Bigots from Ibrox when playing them.

He's been tenacious the last couple of games. I've never doubted the lads technical ability but he's been gritty in his play recently. Dropping him would send the wrong signals imo.

He has yeah but not against someone as tenacious as that wee dick Lundstram, it’s a tough one because they’re rotten at the back and he could exploit that imo

No harm in LJ expressing confidence. It’s not ammo for motivating the Huns. Their blinkered mindset is purely aimed at their ugly sister and, no matter what other teams say, they expect to beat every team every time.

Nothing to worry about with Tavernier unless they get a free kick around the box or a penalty, the most overrated player in British football

Tavernier is certainly an enigma.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him maul Cabraja at one end and get torn a new one by Youan at the other.

I actually thought he was coping very well defensively against Maeda the other week and must have improved defensively then woops, 2 goals down his side.

I don’t even think he’s overly great going forward apart from set pieces and an early cross, he’s slow as a week in the jail and I’ve rarely seen him beat a man

Why? We’ve never been so well balanced in midfield for a few years.

He’s certainly not been missed.

Tonight proves how valuable Newall is to us, Campbell, jeggo and CJ seemed incapable of keeping possession or making any forward passes, woeful performance from our midfielders tonight
