What's your point, GG?
That he was able to fool people for so long? Like so many of his ilk?
Remember this?

Everyone in Hollywood knew what Weinstein was up to , but the Democrats turned a blind eye as long as he was filling their troughs with donations.
Don’t recall Saville donating much to the Tories.

Did everyone in Hollywood tell you that?

Good friend to the new king also. Seems to have a penchant for tolerating his sort

Edwina Currie — at the time in charge of mental health policy — actually authorised Savile’s “access all areas” key to everywhere in the Broadmoor top-security mental hospital, here he regularly watched female patients undress and bathe and abused and assaulted many other patients.
His access included 24-hour access to the mortuary where he assaulted corpses. Currie arranged for Savile to have a flat and his own parking space at Broadmoor.
But at least he didn't openly donate to the Tory party.

Probably a minor point to most folk but it still irritates me that nobody seems to be able to pronounce his name correctly.

And Kier Starmer in his 5 years as Director of Public Prosecutions never charged Savile with anything.

Not anymore, I think it was around 2001 that police needed CPS approval to charge, prior to then police made decision on evidence gathered.

I stand corrected.
So are you still peddling the lie that Keir Starmer deliberately ignored Saville's crimes even though everyone else has criticised Boris Johnson for the slur? Even though Johnson himself back tracked from the outrageous and cowardly accusation?

Would also suggest that as head of CPS in London he would have had no knowledge of what was happening at Branch level…he was more a policy maker than a hands on charging type CPS solicitor

You think Starmer should get a free pass for not recognising the evil of Savile , but politicians like Thatcher and May should get pelters for appearing in a photo with the ****bag.

As much as I normally agree with most of what you post but you are miles of the mark, having worked personally for many years within the criminal justice system. I cannot phantom how you think Starmer whilst working in Head office London had any knowledge on what occurring criminally in Surrey. Especially as by all accounts as Saville was never arrested or charged.

You started this nonsense by giving the democrats pelters because Weinstein supported them. They didn't give a disgusting paedophile, pervert and necrophiliac free access to all the vulnerable people he could ever have wanted.
In any case, why would you expect Starmer to know about Saville's behaviour? As BH points out, none of it would have reached his level.
He also didn't regularly meet with Saville like Thatcher and cobdid. Shouldn't they have recognised his evil since they were such close friends?

Corbyn met Jimmy Saville too? I knew I had never seen those two evil bassas together in the same place…

There's a really bizarre movement trying to make Starmer out to be some kind of paedophile apologist. There was a video doing the rounds a couple of years ago, that was shared by by at least 3 Tory MPs (one of whom was the odious Nadine Dorries), appearing to show him saying victims of grooming gangs shouldn't be believed if they had ever used drugs, drunk alcohol or been convicted of a crime. The clip had been heavily edited. In reality he was describing a culture he had found when taking up his previous role and they deliberately omitted him saying it was an example of how NOT to deal with complaints and then detailing the steps being taken to change that culture and make it easier for victims of said gangs to access justice. That's shameful and it's the kind of stuff that has been peddled by Tommy Robinson and his ilk for years. I can't think of very much that is lower than using victims of paedophiles, rapists and other abusers to score political points really.
The whole issue around grooming gangs and I suppose by extension the blind eye turned to the likes of Saville pre Yewtree is complicated and it transcends political parties. Savid Javid ordered a review into grooming gangs then wanted the findings withheld from the public as one example of 'the other side' getting it wrong too. 'Successful' paedophiles often hide in plain sight. Priests, Scout Leaders, care workers, teachers, 'national treasures' etc etc. all get away with it because they are able to blend in using the guise of being in respectable professions and/or organisations and they are incredibly plausible and often affable and likable. Or in the case of Saville so obviously odd and weird that it was an extreme version of hiding in plain sight.

Johnson in his inimitable style had a go at this, but eventually backed down. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/boris-johnson-savile-smear-starmer-b2006872.html
