Been watching a few Hibs games today and have noticed when we are attacking teams we are certainly getting men forward with 5 or 6 getting into opposition's box at times and a couple floating outside the box as well. The 6-0 against Aberdeen was a prime example of this with goals 1, 2 and 3 all having 5 or 6 Hibs players in the box and even the freekick for the 6th we had 6 players in the box and 3 outside it as well though this does leave the risk of getting caught at the other end though. Just wondering what your thoughts on our attacking play were ?

What we were promised when LJ arrived. We've seen the high press and winning the ball back in opposition half, just not frequently enough

Derby drubbings aside, I think he's turning a corner. Not getting Boyle, Nisbet and Youan on the pitch together has had a massive impact. Seems to like JDH and Magennis too so it's frustrating having the injury situation

My own take on it is he's not had a settled team mostly due to injuries to key players and player's that don't suit his way of playing that were already here or poorly recruited players which has lead to maybe us not seeing it frequently enough this season.

I do like most Hibs fans like to see Hibs play good attacking football and think there's a lot of positive signs of that lately and I'm hopeful that he's turned a corner too . Even though we lost twice 3-0 to hertz I never felt like they were drubbings were they totally dominated us in fact I thought we were the better team in the cup game and both there 3rd goals was down to the fact we were pushing so many players forward that we were simply caught on the break. I'd much rather risk losing a 3rd trying to get back into a game than except a 2 nil defeat every day of the week btw .

I've watched a few games today youan's goal against St mirren and Nisbet's against Aberdeen shows we can break quickly as well and can be clinical in one on one situations as well . Hopefully signs of good times ahead for Hibs 👍.

Having been brought up with Alex Miller's defensive tactics during my formative years I have been brought up to sometimes see the merits of a strong defence, such as when we went to the Scottish Cup Semi Final against Celtic on 07/04/1995 and completely parked the bus and held out for a 0-0 draw and replay. I was absolutely livid with Alex Miller for not having a go. However for the replay on 11/04/1995 he promised a far more attacking style and we had a damn good go, and it was certainly far better to watch as Hibs had me on the edge of my seat. However we got thumped 3-1, and in hindsight I think I would have preferred that we just parked the bus again and held out for extra-time and penalties.

So I think I enjoy attacking football, but not at the expense of defence, and ultimately results are the most important thing for me. I would far prefer an Alex Miller 0-0 bore score draw with Hearts over a Lee Johnson attack minded 0-3 drubbing off them.

However Lee appears to be turning the corner now a little bit, so good luck to him on getting the balance right.

When we are on our game we are a very good attacking side. The amount of shots at goal we were having earlier in the season before our dodgy run was impressive even if our goal return wasn't. Always felt we would give a team a right doing eventually and that was Aberdeen.

I grew up supporting Hibs in the Alex Miller era and while fans always labelled him a defensive manager he signed guys like Wright, O'Neil , McGinley, Jackson etc etc which were some of the best attacking players I've seen at ER .l actually went over to Edinburgh for that game (Semi final 3-1 defeat) and to be honest think Celtic would have beaten most teams back then attacking or defense minded . Parking the bus up , being defensive and not creating chance's isn't going to win you games and is boring to watch imo .

Results are important in football though it's just as important to watch our team play good football as well . A few weeks ago when Johnson was under pressure there was some on here that wanted Mcinnes or Martindale as the new manager, yes there team's are normally hard to beat but the price you pay is watching some of the worst football going even the last time we played Livingston we won 4-0 and imo you could see what Martindale's game plan was to be defensive and lump the ball forward at will even when we went ahead there was no plan B from them and they were awful to watch .

A drubbing or hammering for me is when one team controls the other team for most of a match and is far superior to there opponent and win by 4, 5, 6 or 7 I didn't see this in the hertz games specially in the cup game were I thought we were the better team and the score line wasn't a fair reflection on the game , there 3rd goal was basically a counter attack cause we were pushing so many players forward at the time.

I've really enjoyed watching Hibs these past few weeks with good attacking football much better than being defensive or playing hoof football like Livy or killie and is hundred times better than Maloney's sideways passing game that was like watching paint dry on a wall . It does however come with a lot of risks when you push so many players forward though it's good to watch imo.
