Not sure I understand that, I’m off work tomorrow though so could be the beer[emoji1787] are you saying Boyle was getting a bonus from hibs for being included in the Australia squad and Cummings wasn’t happy about it?

If ever a player needed to escape Scotland for the benefit of his career it was him.

Imagine being the joyless berk of a coach telling him not to hug a kid fan when warming up during a game

No, presumably from Australia as he was named but obviously never actually played. I don't think JC would know the finer details of Boyle's Hibs contract

Really enjoyed that, Thanks for posting.

Cant help but to love the laddie. Looks like he is really enjoying things over there and has managed to get his career back on track. Definitely need a personality like that in the dressing room.

Always got the impression the two of them never got along. I’m sure it was Cummings that nicknamed him Squirrel and Boyle hated it. Marvin Bartley told a story on Si Ferry’s channel about a fight preseason involving Cummings and another player. Had always thought it was Boyle but I’ve got zero inside knowledge.

Think I understand now.....

Boyler WAS named in the WC finals squad but was NOT in the squad when the world cup started, having been withdrawn and replaced by Marco Tillio a few days before the deadline, when the specialist identified the extent of his knee injury.

All the squad players and accredited staff who were part of the official party DURING the world cup finals were getting a substantial bonus.

Graham Arnold obviously saw the unfairness of it all if Boyler, who was one of Oz's best -players in the qualifying matches, simply got on a plane and flew back to Scotland after being withdrawn from the squad in Qatar due to injury.

So, he 'put him on the staff'' as 'Manager of the Vibe' in the official party and hence he would qualify for the bonus.

Now, that my not be 100% correct but it is my understanding of things.

I have no idea if Jason queried it at the time, but I imagine it would not unreasonably be a topic of conversation in the camp at the time.

Yeah, Paddy the Baddy says it every third word!

In Aus, it's a mainstay of the Esh-ays (their equivalent of chavs)

Dunno about any of that tbh.

What I can say is that in a joint interview in the world cup camp before the start with the three Scottish accents...Boyle, Soutar and Cummings they all seemed to enjoy the banter between each other.

Although the move has been brilliant for him, i'd still like to see him back. Not only for his goal scoring ability but his character around the place too, get a few smiles on faces around the place.

Genuinely can’t see him coming back to these shores to play. Seems to be absolutely loving it out there and I’m delighted for him.

Still can’t believe how some Hibs fans have treated him. Singing about him being a paedophile v Dundee that day was horrendous.

His contribution to our cup win was huge.

Doesn't seem like the kind of rumour that should be aired if it's not from the horses mouth. It'll be all over Hibs twitter by tonight.

What's Cummins' side?

I don't understand why one player would object to someone else getting a bonus. Presumably it would make no difference to Cummings whether MB was paid or not.

I also have my doubts that a coach who would employ MB as "Manager of the Vibe" would be too impressed with another player trying to ruin said vibe.

But he's an ex-Hibs striker so I do understand that you'll be :hyper about the idea.

This. They always came across as super pally when they were together at Hibs.

Boyle probably had more influence on his crutches than Cummings did at the world cup!

I’d be very surprised if a guy who played no part in qualification started kicking up about bonuses after being included at the last min even with the guy being cummings that would need to be some brass neck

The 26 players in the squad reportedly received about A$315,000 each as a result of a collective bargaining agreement negotiated by the players’ union.

No idea what the support and coaching staff got, but presumably it would be seperate, and have no effect on what the players got.

We’ll I’d imagine they’d have a bonus allocation that would be split up by the players - if Boyle has had a job pretty much created for him so that he’d get a bonus then the amount the players would get is going to be less?

Glad he's doing well out there and enjoying his football. A maverick who just needed to be in the right environment to get the best out of him. He got that at Hibs and now he's getting that down under.

His role in our 2016 cup win cannot be understated. Modern day Hibs legend!

A great watch that. Hibs legend. Had things worked out differently, he could well have been one at Posh too. Started on fire but found himself on the bench when we signed some young lad from Newcastle called Toney.
