It's been a frustrating season. Hibs results have generally been poor, but we've also played well in flashes and probably had scant reward for our efforts this season. There was always the sense that someone would catch it from us. Aberdeen have their very worst team I can remember, and are totally demoralized, so probably were the ideal candidates.

It underlines again that this is a dreadful league. Apart from a barely adequate Hearts strolling 3rd, we are probably now favourites for 4th, while having what is really a nightmare season, disguised by the inadequacy of others. As has been said, the next four games will tell us loads. We really could consolidate a challenge for a European spot or be in a tense relegation battle.

I'm trying not to be blinded by that result, but, well, football fans...

I think we’ve actually played well recently but poor in both boxes (bar Nisbet)

Today was very very good in every aspect. It’s more what I thought a Lee Johnson team would look like, get the ball back quick and play forward quick.

It all means nothing though he we don’t beat County on Tuesday.

Massive game.

Have just got off the phone with Dawn and she says that's her real name. She also said it's the first turn of the steering wheel as we navigate the turning of the corner, but did warn there will be the odd pothole on the road ahead 😁

As someone else mentioned, we've have only really had issues in the box. Elsewhere, no worse than others.

That said, Aberdeen are absolutely atrocious. 3rd tier league at best when away from home. Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of clubs do them over in the same manner as we did. Some already have. But a 6-0 win is never a bad thing :greengrin

Today was weird. It was like being at a cup game against some lower league shrapnel. Like, you expected the goals to come.

Amazing what you can achieve when players know everyone is disposable and they are all playing for their futures. Well done LJ and the boys brilliant result

The old one game at a time football cliche is perfect for us right now.

No need to get carried away, but I take a lot of positives from today that we, quite rightly, will take in to the game on Tuesday.

I’m also conscious we were playing a team on a terrible run, at a very low ebb and who’s manager got sacked after the match.

Actually never mind I just saw Marshall come and punch a corner, we’re gonna win the league.

Hard to know, isn't it? That's the most lamentably awful Aberdeen side I have ever seen, so judging Hibs' performance in that context is a bit tricky.

Last week was arguably a fairer assessment - and I thought we played pretty well, but our defensively frailties were obvious.

Then again, despite how awful Aberdeen were, I thought the defence looked much better today.

So, as I say, hard to know. Can't judge it on today's performance alone.

4th in the form team table. (Last six games). It was turned during the World Cup. We just didn’t want to acknowledge it because we lost the derbys.

Next two games are crucial, especially as I work for St Mirren's sponsors. I'm in hospitality. It matters to me alright 👍

Neither a turning point or a false dawn. It was a fantastic and welcome result and a nice reward for the folk who turned up to support the team today.

Hibs played very well for spells and there was a number of good individual performances. But on the other hand Aberdeen looked every inch like a team that were on the wrong end of a massive shock during the week and they were devoid of ideas and unlike them much fighting spirit.

Having said that you cant argue with 6 - 0 against any premier league team and it has to have given the team a massive confidence boost, just how much of a boost we will see on Tuesday night, get a win in Dingwall and a decent performance to go with it and then maybe we can start thinking about corners being turned.

It isn't just today. We have had some decent performances lately and even the two shocking results against Hearts still had periods where we looked like a team. For all I don't think he is great having Jimmy J in front of the centre halves could make our defence better and get Joe Newell straying to be more of an attacking force. No reason why we can't finish fourth

Two away matches coming up. We'll see what we're made of after that.

We only have four more home matches before the split;

Killie
Huns
Motherell
Hearts

Hoping for 12 but take 7 from that

only 3 more corners to turn… the normal device resumes :)

That result today could be a major turning point in our season. Everyone wrote that team off before the game and we absolutely battered them. I really want Harry mckirdy to do the business for us. There’s just something about him that I really like. GGTTH

I'm not sure that worked so well for us with Terry Butcher!

If we don’t do the usual and take a a poor result after a great result this could indeed be a turn of a corner.
Aberdeen were terrible but it’s all about taking chances , and we did. Roll on Tuesday , Ross County will be up for it after a great result too

I’m sure we’ll fail to get in adequate reinforcements before deadline day, c0ck it up against Ross County and Lee Johnson will go from being the messiah to being a very naughty boy again.

It’s the way our season is going 🤓
