So does anyone know the extent of Rocky's injury. Have been searching for info on this all week .... have I missed an update from Hibs?? Surely must know by now ?

Honestly didn't see it ... must be linked to my total red mist just now about anything Hibs related... football, recruitment and now anything to do with communication

So seems broken leg unlikely but ligament damage more likely which would probably take longer to heal ?

Sound mental to say but a break would have been good news. Ligaments are an absolute nightmare to heal.

I remember when i was 20 I ruptured ligaments in my ankle the doctor told me

“if you had just broken your ankle, you’d be looking at 6-8 weeks, sadly the ligaments are ruptured so you’re looking at 6-8 months”

So yeh, if it is we ain’t seeing Rocky back anytime soon.

That’s odd. It happened on Sunday, why does it take so long to ascertain that it’s an (undiagnosed) ‘ankle injury’? Surely if it was a break, an X ray would have told you that straight away? If it’s not a break, why does it take a major club like Hibs right into next week to arrange for him to see an ankle specialist?

Possibly it’s ligament damage to his ankle. I assumed it was his knee by the way he went down. Best of luck to him, he’s fast becoming my favourite player in the current team.

The club said earlier this week it is because of swelling and bruising, have to wait until these go down to get a full picture of the damage.

Thanks. I remember when I broke my ankle I had an immediate X-ray, so I suppose that scenario makes sense too.

May have had the x-ray and they worked out it wasn't broken, but then takes time for the swelling and bruising to settle a little before they can work out the extent of the ligament / tissue damage.

Hoping he makes a good recovery, he has been a bright spot this season for us.

Am I seeing this through green tinted specs or have we suffered more than most with key players out for extended periods 🤷🏼 Boyle, Nisbet, McGeady, Magennis and now Rocky. Did these 5 ever play a game together🙄

I know Michael Stewart gets slated on here and sometimes rightly so
However he has said there is a good team in that squad and it is a pity those mentioned have not played together in the same team
The season might have been different

Sorry was in response to below

Gutted for Rocky and for us as he was becoming key. It makes the decision to sell Porteous for a couple hundred grand even more difficult to understand.

There was so much to like about his performance last weekend in amongst the chaos. Just a shame he’s in a poorly performing team.

Looked to be full of confidence, quite a few things to iron out but he’s physically commanding and athletic. Think he could be excellent, shame about the injury but just the way things are falling at the moment.

Absolute nightmare scenarios are all we seem to be getting this season - Boyle out, Porto leaving, Nisbet leaving and now Rocky looks like he may well be out for the season. It never rains but it pours FFS!

It is probably good news as his ankle will probably heal better than his knee would and certainly better than an ACL which I thought it may have been. Still a devastating blow for him and the club though particularly after he has developed so well this season. Come back stronger Rocky

So it wasn’t the club’s fault. Looks like you’ll have to find something else to criticise them about.
