Ok, in my eyes this season is done, yes we can still finish top 6 but i honestly think there's too many things wrong and too much uncertainty at the club at the moment. We need to get the DOF appointed asap and start planning for next season and not enter the next transfer window behind the 8 ball. Out of the current squad who do we see staying/going?

Goalkeepers:

-David Marshall. Hasn't been at his very best of late but still above average for our league and for me would be happy for him to continue as #1
-Ryan Schofield. Hasn't played, unknown quantity, pass.
-Kevin Dabrowski. Not at the level for the number 1 position, probably not happy being a number 2. Pass.

Defenders:

-Marijan Cabraja. Not up to it, has had a hard time off the pitch and may be best for all parties to move on.
-Demetri Mitchell. Not much needed to be said about this guy.
-Lewis Stevenson. Keep, but only as a squad player and to possibly move to a coaching role.
-Chris Cadden. Decent squad player, difficult to fit him into our system at the moment though, but he's handy to have and quite versatile.
-Lewis Miller. Baffling signing, feels like we just signed him because signing players from the Aleague is the cool thing to do at the moment.
-Kanayo Megwa. Not seen enough and still very young, squad player/loan out
-Paul Hanlon. Sorry to say but it's time for Paul to move on, club legend, always will be.
-Rocky Bushiri. Our best defender, needs to iron out mistakes but happy to have him here.
-Will Fish. Release him back to the ocean
-David McLelland. Still young Squad player/loan out
-Allan Delferriere. Nearly 21, not sure if he's going to be the answer.

Midfielders:

-Jimmy Jeggo. Early days but he has decent pedigree, good age with a bit of experience
-Josh Campbell. Probably been our best central midfielder this season, not spectacular but gives his all and has a big of dig about him, if anything good squad player.
-Jake Doyle-Hayes. Linked with a move away, won't be too sad to see him go, need better quality in midfield than him.
-Joe Newell. Sorry but doesn't do enough, not outstanding at one thing other than sideways safe passes, probably on a decent wage too, easily replaceable.
-Kyle Magennis. Really torn on this one, great when fit but rarely fit. Due to his lengthy contract i'd persist in the hope he gets over his injuries.
-Nohan Kenneh. Not been convinced so far, interested to see how his loan spells go but leaning toward cutting losses.
-Ewan Henderson. Nowhere near good enough, Scottish league 1 standard.
-

Attackers:

-Kevin Nisbet. Obviously keep. Would go as far to let him run contract down if he keeps playing the way he is, we won't replace him for the money we'll receive now as it's nearly too late to cash in.
-Jair Tavares. What a waste of money, great youtube reel should get him a move.
-Aiden McGeady. Age not on his side but looks like one of the few players to create something. Keep if he's still got the hunger for another season.
-Elie Youan. All bark no bite, looks good until it comes down to actually doing something meaningful, granted he has assists he still isn't at the level required for Hibs.
-Harry McKirdy. Maybe not given a run in the team but hasn't exactly given the manager anything to think about in the time he's been on the pitch, if we've got the receipt take him back.
-Mykola Kukharevych. Like what i've seen so far, unlucky with injuries, would be keen to see him sign perm.
-Martin Boyle. Not much to be said, our most dangerous player.
-Daniel McKay. Don't think he'll make the grade at this level.
-Elias Melkersen. Can see he has talent but not sure we'll see it in the SPL, if we can recoup fees paid for him would accept.
-Runar Hauge. Liek Melkersen, talent there but won't see it at Hibs.
-Dylan Tate. Very undecided on this one, always thought he'd come good for us. But if you can't break into this team it says something.

So that would leave a squad looking like:

GK: Marshall
LB:
RB:
CB:
CB: Rocky
CM: Magennis
CM: Jeggo
CM:
LW: McGeady
RW: Boyle
ST: Nisbet

Subs:
-Cadden
-Stevenson
-Megwa
-Campbell
-McLelland
-Kukhareyvch

Which would leave us needing 4-5 top quailty first team ready signings plus a few squad fillers. Would also like to see the likes of MacIntyre, O'Connor, Laidlow pushed into the first team and given a chance (Even this season).

All in all it's going to be yet another rebuild and probably an expensive one at that unless we can unearth a few out of contract gems.

Unless we get rid of Johnson the playing pool doesn't matter

Unless we get rid of Johnson the playing pool doesn't matter

Hard to disagree, but would really like to see him given a fair chance with his own signings (Not buying the notion that he chooses the players). His tactics have left a lot to be desired at times (Fish at RB, Porto at CM etc) but in this current regime any manager that comes in is setup for failure.

The one reason i would give him a shot is that the players always look like they're giving their all for him, doesn't look like a team that has downed tools, it's honestly just lacking in quality to complete at top end of this division.

Defenders:

-Marijan Cabraja. Not up to it, has had a hard time off the pitch and may be best for all parties to move on.
-Demetri Mitchell. Not much needed to be said about this guy. HAS BEEN FROZEN OUT OF THE TEAM AS WE DESPERATELY TRY TO GET HIS WAGE OF THE PAYROLL
-Lewis Stevenson. Keep, but only as a squad player and to possibly move to a coaching role. CONTRACT ENDS IN MAY AND WON'T BE RENEWED
-Chris Cadden. Decent squad player, difficult to fit him into our system at the moment though, but he's handy to have and quite versatile.
-Lewis Miller. Baffling signing, feels like we just signed him because signing players from the Aleague is the cool thing to do at the moment. HAS JUST RETURNED FROM INJURY, JURY STILL OUT
-Kanayo Megwa. Not seen enough and still very young, squad player/loan out
-Paul Hanlon. Sorry to say but it's time for Paul to move on, club legend, always will be. STILL HAS 18 MONTHS ON HIS CONTRACT AND WILL REMAIN AT THE CLUB UNTIL IT'S CONCLUSION
-Rocky Bushiri. Our best defender, needs to iron out mistakes but happy to have him here. THINK HE HAS BROKEN HIS LEG SO WILL BE OUT FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON
-Will Fish. Release him back to the ocean LOAN ENDS IN MAY AND HE WILL RETURN TO PARENT CLUB
-David McLelland. Still young Squad player/loan out
-Allan Delferriere. Nearly 21, not sure if he's going to be the answer. JURY STILL OUT

-Joe Newell. Sorry but doesn't do enough, not outstanding at one thing other than sideways safe passes, probably on a decent wage too, easily replaceable. WILL BE HERE NEXT SEASON, IS OUR LEVEL AND I WILL BE SURPRISED IF WE CAN AFFORD BETTER
ONLY 19, SHOULD BE GIVEN TIME BUT WILL BE JEGGO'S BACK UP FOR NEXT SEASON
-Ewan Henderson. Nowhere near good enough, Scottish league 1 standard. CHAMPIONSHIP LEVEL. IT WILL BE DIFFICULT TO SHIFT HIM GIVEN HIS CONTRACT.
-

Attackers:

-Kevin Nisbet. Obviously keep. Would go as far to let him run contract down if he keeps playing the way he is, we won't replace him for the money we'll receive now as it's nearly too late to cash in. HE WILL BE 26 IN MARCH AND WILL BE GONE IN THE SUMMER FOR HIS SHOT AT THE BIGGER TIME
-Jair Tavares. What a waste of money, great youtube reel should get him a move. HIS YOUTUBE VIDEO SHOWED HE COULDN'T BEAT THE LAST MAN AND SO IT HAS PROVED. SHOULD BE GOING ON LOAN TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP NEXT WEEK BUT WON'T
-Aiden McGeady. Age not on his side but looks like one of the few players to create something. Keep if he's still got the hunger for another season. 37 IN APRIL AND CONTRACT ENDS IN MAY. IT WON'T BE RENEWED
-Elie Youan. All bark no bite, looks good until it comes down to actually doing something meaningful, granted he has assists he still isn't at the level required for Hibs. WITHOUT KNOWING THE OPTION TO BUY PRICE IT'S HARD TO KNOW IF WE WILL KEEP HIM. I THINK IT WILL BE HIGH AND WE WILL CHOOSE NOT TO TAKE IT UP. MOST ASSISTS OUTSIDE THE OF BUT HE AIN'T NO STRIKER
-Harry McKirdy. Maybe not given a run in the team but hasn't exactly given the manager anything to think about in the time he's been on the pitch, if we've got the receipt take him back. HAS BEEN HOPELESS IN THE 2 GAMES HE STARTED BUT HAS DONE OK IN SOME GAMES WHEN HE HAS COME ON AS A SUB. THE JURY IS OUT. I THINK HE WILL PLAY THE LAST 30 MINUTES OF GAMES AFTER THE ABERDEEN GAME
-Mykola Kukharevych. Like what i've seen so far, unlucky with injuries, would be keen to see him sign perm. NO OPTION TO BUY, LOAN ENDS IN MAY AND HE WILL RETURN TO PARENT CLUB
-Martin Boyle. Not much to be said, our most dangerous player. OUT FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON AND WILL PROBABLY MISS PART OF NEXT SEASON. WILL HE COME BACK THE SAME PLAYER?
-Daniel McKay. Don't think he'll make the grade at this level. GOOD AT CHAMPIONSHIP LEVEL. 22 IN APRIL. IT'S MAKE OR BREAK FOR HIM IN THE SUMMER
-Elias Melkersen. Can see he has talent but not sure we'll see it in the SPL, if we can recoup fees paid for him would accept. HAS JUST TURNED 20, STILL HAS TIME, INTERESTING TO SEE HOW HE DOES IN HOLLAND
-Runar Hauge. Liek Melkersen, talent there but won't see it at Hibs. I SEE NOTHING IN HIM OUT OF THE ORDINARY. HE SHOULD BE GOING ON LOAN TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE NEXT WEEK
-Dylan Tate. Very undecided on this one, always thought he'd come good for us. But if you can't break into this team it says something. HIS SURNAME IS SPELT TAIT. HE IS OUT WITH A KNEE INJURY FOR THE SEASON. ONLY 21. REACHING CRITICAL TIME NEXT SEASON

So that would leave a squad looking like:

GK: Marshall
LB:
RB:
CB:
CB: Rocky

CM:
LW: McGeady GONE
RW: Boyle

In what way is Miller a baffling signing?

He was a very highly rated young full back in the A League and has had brutal luck with injuries since joining which has limited game time?

Granted the bad luck with injuries. But don't get the feeling Johnson rates him, he's been back in the last few squads and we've stuck with Cadden who can't defend. The signing has a real feeling of one that popped up on a database based on stats and not actually been looked at.

Fwiw i watch a lot of aleague games everyweek (I live in OZ) and he's never stood out. I was desperate for us to go for Rowles and Tilio who you could clearly see had talent. Being said i do hope Miller can come good and sort out our right back position but i'm not convinced.

Miller doesn't sound promising if you have watched him play in Aus and he hasn't stood out.
I first saw Rowles play in the Aus game against Peru and could tell right away he was a player.

It's infuriating that these players get away from us, you could see 2 years ago Rowles was good enough to play at a higher level than the A-League, yet we go for the guy that plays next to him and don't notice Rowles.

Hearts had Rowles and Devlin in the bag and St Mirren had Baccus and Strain before we arrived and picked up a left over.

We're not good enough to compete in the Top 4, but I've no doubts about us avoiding a relegation fight.

5th is still a Euro spot.

I know that we are all entitled to our opinions, but if you truly believe that Rocky is our best defender that`s where the problems begin. He scares the s*** out of me everytime he is on the ball. He is limited in what he can do.

All in all it's going to be yet another rebuild and probably an expensive one at that unless we can unearth a few out of contract gems.

In terms of the goalkeeper situation I’d like to think we will start getting Murray Johnson in and around the 1st team soon,Highly regarded by many albeit only 19 which is young for a goalkeeper but if your good enough then it shouldn’t matter.
I’m sure Andy McNeil was winning cups with Hibs at 20/21

I know that we are all entitled to our opinions, but if you truly believe that Rocky is our best defender that`s where the problems begin. He scares the s*** out of me everytime he is on the ball. He is limited in what he can do.

He is absolutely fine on the ball.
