So Melkerson, Dabrowski and others away.
I'm not really overly concerned at those decisions.
Porto likely to go.
Rocky looking in serious injury territory.
Boyle out for the rest of the season
Newell was suspended

Magennis? Injured AGAIN?

The bench looked very light weight and there was NOBODY on it that was a potential game changer. Not one.

The balance is all wrong.

Number 1 priority has to be getting recruitment right. Very soon.

Our squad was already smaller than Hearts when we started the cull. We will very soon be lacking in both quality and quantity. Rocky looks out for teh season to me so even if we bring a centre half in we will be two down and one in. Jimmy J comes in but Magennis is out yet again. Cadden doesn't look fit, Cabraja is painfully slow, McGeady may be on the park for 90 but he only plays about a half. There are so many things wrong with our squad it is difficult to imagine how it could be so bad with just incompetence.

Magennis needs to be moved out asap. Desperately unlucky with injuries but we can't afford to have key players constantly sitting out games like today. Good enough player but totally unreliable.

We have zero depth to this squad.

We have about 3 or 4 players who are good enough to play for our first team, the rest are either average at best or nowhere near the level required.

Until that number of 3 or 4 increases massively then we'll continue to be in trouble.

We’re negative depth. Me and my mate were saying today: Stevenson in midfield is the biggest indicator of that.

If Nisbet is injured - and I suspect he is after today - who starts next game?

CB - Rocky probably out for the season now and Porteous wants away. So we’ve got Hanlon and Fish for the rest of the season there.

When the bench went to warm up today me and the boy next to me just shook our heads. Not one player to bring on that you felt could make a difference.

Contrast that with Hearts bench. We are in a shambles of a situation.

That’s absolutely frightening by the way

We have no depth because we’ve went from 15 signings in the summer to wanting quality over quantity in the January 🤣

The club is an absolute ****ing state. No leadership or guidance. It’s ****ed

well said !
Look at hearts squad and bench ,it pains me to say they are way ahead of us in many ways!
They look physically bigger and better and have a stronger mentality too..
Whoever signed off on the majority of summer transfers needs emptied out ,all punts ,projects etc..
it is all wrong …
The product is not good enough,We are still playing Lewis Stevenson at 35 odd !!..Great servant, but now squad player not a starter ..
Look at our bench ,fills you with great confidence does it not ..Hearts bench strong ?.
Its sad times and we have wasted summer transfer window really culpable it’s a disaster?
where’s Ron ?,Ben etc ….

Deferriere, Mackay, Tait, Hauge, Melkersen, Miller, Balde, Cabraja, Tavares, Mc****ingKirdy, Mueller, Henderson.

Just a few of the players we’ve signed on a permanent contract in the last two windows and a big part of why we’re in the ****.

I was told by someone on here that Ian Gordon will “learn and develop” after I crucified his recruitment last week. He’s a useless prick that hasn’t a clue what he’s doing. The amount of money he’s *****ed up the wall is mental. That list of players is frighteningly bad.

Terrifying, and that’s more than recruitment, it’s been so so badly managed all over the first team for a couple of years now.

Never mind the depth, there is just very little quality. We’d probably be slightly better off if Boyle was available but not much given how poor we are defensively.

You go right through the team and it’s just poor to average players with the odd exception.

Nisbet has been good since he came back and I’d like to keep him. Beyond that there isn’t a single player that I’d be bothered about losing tomorrow.

We can’t cut our losses on Magennis because he’s likely sitting on a good contract: We need someone in to play the position he should be playing though.

That statement beggars belief. You don't appoint someone as Head of Recruitment as some sort of development opportunity. It's one of the most important roles at the club and you need someone with a proven track record, not some YTS scheme appointment.

A good few of us were pointing out at or before the start of the summer window that we needed to be recruiting early and well if we were going to beef up the midfield with first 11 players as well as remedying our forward and defensive weaknesses. McGeady was always a risk for injury/as a 90 minute player. Relying on Magennis getting and staying fit was irresponsibly hopeful. We largely failed to do what we needed to do and since then we seem also to have coached most of what we do have backwards.

This is a complete clu5ter**ck and someone at the club in authority needs grip the situation, manage it very actively and intensively over the next two weeks and make their objective the installation of people on the football side who have the knowledge and free hand to be able to dump dross and set some pretty seriously high standards. Otherwise we will be playing to shrinking crowds and with weakened revenues next season and perhaps more beyond that.

The bench today was up there with the worst it’s been for a long, long time. Felt for the young lads today.
