View Full Version : Question Hibernian v Rangers - quick question

I have hospitality tickets in the pioneers suite for this game, a Christmas gift from Mrs McBizz. I am also about to book to watch France v Scotland in one of the suites at Murrayfield the following day (a bit like the beam back Hibs did for the derby).
Question is, how likely is the Hibs v Huns to be picked for the TV and moved to the Sunday at some horrible time? Are we likely to know this already? And if not, how long in advance do tv games get selected? Trying to avoid paying for the rugby and not being able to attend.
Thanks for any help anyone may have.

I’d think it will be moved and I would suspect we will find in next week or so. Think it’s 6 weeks in advance notice

The last scheduled game they have showing is the week before (Motherwell vs Hearts). There's a good to fair chance it will be moved as it is the glasgow bigots away day that weekend.

If they win their Semi this Sunday, the Hibs game will be moved anyway, as Cup Final is 26 Feb.

It’s worth noting that Sky only have 1 more game to show at ER this season so it’s unlikely that this game would be picked for TV

Hope sky don't pick derby so hibs can sell loads of ppv's.

Sorry but that can't be right.

I’m sure I read that it’s only 4 per ground they have and the Celtic game was our 3rd this season

Did they not increase it to 5 this season?

It was 5 the last couple of seasons as a trade off for Sky allowing the ppv and virtual season tickets but I think it changed to 4 when that stopped. 4 at each ground is what the deal was originally supposed to be to make up the 48 games.
Really shows what a shambles of a deal this is.

Yeah looks like it’s 4 just now but 5 when the new deal kicks in

:agree:
4 this season and next and then 5 from the year after.
So only one more match can be shown on Sky from Easter Road this season.

I think every Celtic and Rangers away games are shown live.
Sky get 48 games so that works out at an average of four games per club right enough.
I thought that BT sports also showed live games but it appears they don't.

Unfortunately BT haven’t shown games for a few years now since the deal went exclusive with Sky.

BT haven't been involved in Scottish football for about 3 seasons now.

It's all beginning to make sense to me now.
Basically Sky are trying to work out which four teams will make the top six outwith Rangers and Celtic.
Those teams will have Celtic and Rangers at home twice and that will be their four televised games.
Ross County won't make the top six so they will probably have three old firm games televised and one other post split.
Hibs game wasn't shown at Tynecastle because Sky will want Rangers and Celtic games there shown live, probably the same with Aberdeen.
Depending how the split turns out may well mean that it is impossible for all the Old Firm away games to be shown live.

Agree no way in earth they are not showing a Hibs Rangers game at ER. Old firm away games are what the deals are all about unfortunately

If they do then they can't show Hibs v Celtic after the split if we make the top 6.

We have no home league matches in March ( will hopefully be at home in the cup QF ) so already 5 weeks between Rangers match and Motherwell on 1st April . If Rangers make LC final , I suppose we`d play them midweek in March .
Talking of fixtures I see that the Ross County game is still listed as 1st February on club website .

Fair enough thought the split games were in addition to the 4. Of course assuming we get top 6 and also that we get the home game v Celtic rather than playing them away 3 times.

No home games in March really is nonsense

There are only 2 league games in March, due to Scottish cup and then the international break
