As many of you will remember during the covid season a number of flags were displayed in the East Stand including the Hibs.net flag. It's also been on display in the South Stand Upper over the years and has been on surfing tours of both Easter Road and Hampden.
It's between 15 and 20 years old now and the sleeves were a weak point even when it was new. Sadly during it's final outing the age of the flag combined with inclement weather has meant it sustained a fair bit of structural damage. For some time Hibs allowed us to store the flag in the East Stand but we were advised a while back this was no longer possible and it has been sitting at the bottom of a wardrobe since.
Sadly we feel it is time to move on from the current flag and there are plans afoot for a smaller, more practical replacement that will hopefully become a regular feature at home and away games. However we are mindful that the current flag was funded by many people who still post on here. It also has hundreds of names printed on it, many of them people who are no longer with us. With this in mind we wanted to offer the flag to anyone who may want it. The damage to it is notable but repairable. The other option is that if anyone would like images of the flag, particularly certain names, please let me know and we can facilitate that and have these sent over to you before disposing of the flag.

It would be good to see some photos of it on here as there are probably many of our younger followers who have never seen it in its pomp

Having it hang out of the Barons flat before the cup game versus saint johnstone still makes me laugh!

Nah, it was at roseburn. There are photos of it somewhere. It was a superb sight, hung from the top floor.

It's older than that I think. I'm 37 and I was the custodian of it in early 2000s and it had been around a bit then I think.
Shame its going but it weighed a ton. Used to lug it to games in a massive black holdall.

When we started Hibs12thMan I had responsibility for it a few times. My two boys, my brother and his son and daughter were all 6 foot tall or over so between us we loved surfing it along to and from Section43.
Pity it couldn't be hung under the East somewhere but it sounds like structurally that's not possible? 😪
The flag made its appearance in March 2007. Hopefully we can get a couple of old pics up today as a reminder of its beauty!
