Cheers.

Finding something else to do with my afternoon is a nicer thought than using their PPV. The only problem is that it feels like every time I avoid the game because it's on Alba it turns out we lost.

Is that the hearts PPV? Probably a daft question but how come they (and other teams ) seem to PPV a match but we don’t (unless you’re abroad)?

Avoiding the game completely is another option. We're heading away for our annual new year break where there's no TV and only patchy mobile access so I won't be checking in on the score until Wednesday to ensure we don't spoil the holiday with news of a defeat.

As long as the game also doesn't kick off between 2:45pm-5.15pm on a Saturday.

It’s an absolute joke it isn’t being broadcast anywhere. Shows just who the Sky deal is really for.

It’s Old Firm TV in disguise or if other teams play them it’s a chance for the non travelling fans to watch.

Saw a stat the other day and Celtic and Rangers been on Sky about x9 and others only x1 or x2.

I’m sure folk aren’t just realising that now?

Ultimately, without the Old Firm there would be no tv deal at all. Might get a minor bit of interest in an Edinburgh derby, but who’s going to tune in to watch Kilmarnock v Ross County in front of a swathe of empty seats?

We’d have to pay a broadcaster to show the SPFL.

It’s a deal that ensures the Old Firm are almost guaranteed a Sat 3 pm KO for home games (great for ST sales) and most of their away games broadcast live on TV.

Rest of us are slotted in to suit. Know your place and all that.

Oh, definitely not. Today just a blunt reminder of that.

According to Facebook the Marksman are showing it.

An 'interesting' boozer but you could have been bevvying in there for 2.5 hours already today if you wished.

Rumour has it Lee Johnson has just staggered out with half a pint in hand desperately trying to get an Uber with his 2% phone battery left.

Scottish football really is pathetic. It's really sad that it's geared so much towards two clubs and the rest of us just need to get on with it.

The Edinburgh Derby should be considered as the second biggest fixture in Scottish football but as far as Sky are concerned it's not even Hibs and Hearts' second biggest fixture of the season as both clubs' matches v Celtic and Rangers rank far higher for them.

I really wish we could rid ourselves of these two clubs and let the rest of us get on with it.

Yeah on in the marksman, lot of people saying they’re watching it there so expect it to be busy.

Or get a decent tv deal which is much fairer. Rangers and Celtic fans can watch all of their away games while contributing absolutely nothing to the game in this country.

You have no facts to back that up. There are leagues across Europe that don’t look particularly attractive, yet have better tv deals than Scotland. Many of them operate on small attendances than we do.

I can’t find it to hand but there was a graphic of a map of Europe a while back that showed the tv deals each country has. Some of these countries don’t have massive clubs of the size of the old firm, yet still manage to get better tv deals than we do.

Still is.

I used to frequent both there, the Tam O Shanter, the Scotsman's Lounge and the Brunswick in the early mornings when I worked night shift.

Always an eclectic clientele at that time. Pished students ending a bender, boys needing a sharpener before work, night shift workers and people who sadly needed to be there.

My 'favourite' memory was entering the Marksman at the back of 7 one morning and being told to avoid the back left corner because someone had been sick the previous night and it hadn't been cleaned up yet.

Brilliant :greengrin

Was the Brunswick the one half way up Leith Walk. Guy from my work was waiting on a bus outside it at 8 in the morning when two guys bust out the pub scrapping in true cowboy movie style

People in Scotland are far too quick to put down our game.

Sure it has massive flaws but why would Scotland be the only nation in Europe not to get a half decent deal (I would argue we don't get a half decent deal at present)
