He sometimes lacks composure when in a position to put in a dangerous cross (maybe doesn't get many options from his teammates failure to make runs into the box, mind) but I do recall that run for the last minute goal for Boyle in the Derby, where he ran at the defence at pace, one-twoed with Boyle, held off the yams' defender, outpaced him and put it on a plate for Boyle to score. Needs much more of that and maybe a few goals! Here's hoping!

He missed a big chance so I got the criticism of that but his general contribution in the game was good in the first hour. I thought Johnson should have hooked him as he was done in the latter part of the game though.

If he can produce that level of performance consistently he could be a real asset for us this season especially with Boyle injured. He was just so much more involved today and whipped in some great crosses.

He played very well. Pace to burn, quick feet and very direct. I thought Stevenson gave him good back up too. The wee man was always making runs which helped draw a defender and leave Youan space to cut inside.

Hopefully he can pick up where he left off and keep that form for the next game. A sterner test no doubt, but what an out ball he could be offering. He’s rapid

He started well with us but performances since then had gone downhill, reaching a nadir at Ibrox. Today he had an excellent game, not just going forward but tracking back. At one point late in the second half Cabraja was caught out on half way and it was Youan who got back to win the ball in the LB spot for us.

Youan sensational today compared to recent performances. Hope he keeps it up as we need the forwards to step up now Boyler is out. Also having a proper centre forward and attacking mid helps greatly. If we can keep Magennis and Nisbet fit and get McGeady up and running along with a flying Youan we should do alright.

I thought a thread about him earlier in the season was way over the top in its praise. For good parts of the season he’s been largely ineffective. Only last week he was very poor against the Huns and his workrate was awful. Was a player on those showings I’d have been keen to move on. If yesterday was a better reflection of his ability he’ll deservedly get continued praise. It’s up to him to him though.

I was sticking up for him for ages in a central position, but I’ve come to the conclusion he’s a winger, he’s probably always known himself he’s a winger but sucked up the manager playing him in the centre. Now Nizzys back there’s surely no debate.

Certainly don’t think he is a central forward but I think he could play as a central attacking midfielder. His finishing isn’t the best so a getting him more focussed on pass isn’t and assists might help him push on. Would open up the possibility of a 3-5-2 while Boyle is out with Nisbet and McKirdy up front and Youan with Magennis and one other in midfield.
