Hi All

As a part of our ongoing improvements to the performance of the site we will shortly be moving to a shiny new server with improved management software. That's the good news.

Unfortunately the downside is that there will no longer be an included email provision. We have looked at alternatives but the cost per email address is far in excess of the current annual subscription which has remained the same for more than just a few years. Sadly this means we can no longer provide this service and it will be withdrawn from the 10th of January. We only have a small percentage of Private Members actually using a hibs.net email address but we do realise that there are some who use them on a daily basis. We apologise for any disruption caused and we will try to continue to try and add value in other ways with exclusive competitions and prize draws etc for our Private Members.

This is ridiculous and totally out of order. I have been a Private member for many years and never knew an email address option existed. I demand compensation for those missed years of opportunity.

Will the look and format of the site be changing ? Im partially colourblind, 50% technophobe and 100 % thick so dont want to be logging onto some cardigan wearing Austin Allegro loving hearts fans forum 🥹

Is this why I’ve been unable to view the forum all day? It when I click on a topic, it comes up with an error.

Had to download tapatalk, it works using this!

Not been a PM for a while but the email address is used for my iTunes sign on amongst other stuff. Presumably that’s ok as it’s just a user ID - or does it have a bigger impact?

Prob best to change it as they are likely to send any passsord resets to it

Maybe if there weren't many members wanted a hibs.net email and this was costing the site more it could be provided at a premium rate i.e. a tenner a year for standard PM £15 a year for PM plus email for premium???

That wouldnt come close to covering the costs unfortunately. As said we have looked at all possible options but it just cant be done. Apologies again to those it affects.

I've had the same thing on my Galaxy, except for a couple of occasions. No problems on the computer though

Just a reminder that email will be retiring shortly.
This only impacts email - not the site or its look/feel.

For those with a mailbox, if you have related questions/queries about the retirement of the service, now is the time to ask.


Those still experiencing cloudflare issue can try to clear their browser cache (for hibs.net and/or cloudflare pages).
Alternatively a forced refresh of the pages (CTRL+F5) a couple of times can help bypass any local caching.
