Not sure if posted elsewhere but he passed away yesterday aged 53 from luekemia. Was some player in that 1980s Red Star side in that brilliant Yugoslav team before the war.

One of the first foreign players names I knew off-by-heart back when I was a bairn watching Football Italia. IIRC he scored a hattrick of free-kicks in a game for Lazio, he was the first ever dead-ball specialist that I can remember. Bit of a questionable character but those were great days to be a football fan with such fantastic access to what was the best league in the world at that time.
I tend to watch football quite differently to most in that I don't really watch the ball unless it's in the box, I prefer to watch the movement of the defensive team as that dictates the flow of the attacking team and I feel I see more of what's going on watching the game this way. It was purely down to the amount of Italian football I watched as a bairn and some of the great managers in Serie A back then all watching the game this way and the players invterviews with James Richardson were really in-depth on the tactical and movement side of the game, with Mihaljovic being a regular focus of the way he played being considered 'odd' at the time as he was neither defender nor midfielder.
