Johnson mentioned in his interview two have left and two are coming in.

Wonder if it’s anything to do with the injuries/reoccurring injuries to Mitchell, Magennis, Miller, JDH, Boyle, Mcgeady etc.

cutting costs, there's a lot of that going on.

So I take it you know the salaries of the staff leaving and the new staff arriving?

Seems strange. If you were going to cut costs why replace them?

Have we not just lost the head of department to Newcastle?

"Cutting Costs" though.

Is anyone else finding this "have a dig at the club at all costs" attitude boring as **** or is it just me?

I don’t know about having a dig at the club, but losing the two who left is not good news. Both are very highly rated in their roles and we were lucky to have them.

Hopefully the start of an improvement in our injury record.

I’m sure we were very fortunate. There’s already been one “cost cutting” comment

I’ve heard some real horror stories of just how **** she actually was.

If you believe some on here it would all have been bad luck, it would be impossible for there to be any more to it.

Just people wanting to move on. One is moving on to a much better job.

So the new physios are called Ronetta and Iona Gordon...I heard virtual physios, they do all the assessments and treatment plans on the big telly.

Im sure I read somewhere about top EPL physios earning £4k a week.

Hard to believe though. Or is it?

I'm sure I read a wee while back the average wage for a physio in the English Premier league was 68k per year but the top guys are likely on more than that

Yes, very.

Especially with recruitment, it was almost like before Ian Gordon everh signing was brilliant.

Not unthinkable that both may be going to the same place.

I remember speaking to someone who was a physio at Hibs and the pay really isn't all that great.

Seemingly it's a pretty good thing to get on your cv when you're young but in terms of earnings, you're much better off treating normal folk in private practice.

Which iirc is normally where folk seem to head off to after leaving us?

I expect you're right as far as teams like Hibs are concerned. Physios charge around £30 for a half hour session, but they're not going to have enough clients to fill a 40 hour working week.

A permanent position with a lower average hourly rate, will be attractive to newer physios.

Once their CV develops, they can look for positions with private clinics or become self employed.

However, EPL clubs will want to cream off the most talented people to keep their highly valuable and expensive players healthy so they'll offer better renumeration packages.

How much better is the question.

I know it’s not physio but I know someone who used to work in the sports science team at an SPFL team. He earned a fairly poor wage.

He left to go to an English Championship side where his wage increased fairly significantly and is still there now. He applied for a job at an EPL team recently and the wage was not far off 4x what the Scottish team he worked for paid.

I would imagine physios would go along the same sort of lines, once you get to the Premiership it’ll most likely be a very good wage for a physio, much the same as it’s a very good wage for the sports science guys, kit man etc.
