Hibernian Community Foundation’s 2022 Christmas Appeal is our biggest and boldest yet!

We’re providing lunch for 500 community members most in need on Christmas Day, served in our brand new hospitality suites in the West Stand at Easter Road.

Providing Christmas Lunch for the local community has been a long standing Hibernian tradition. However, in recent years we’ve been constrained by the pandemic. So this year, at a time when families across the country are worrying about the cost of living, we’re hosting Christmas lunch for 500!

We’re partnering with Dnipro Kids, North East Edinburgh Foodbank, the Salvation Army and many other local community groups and charities, inviting families, elderly people and anyone who may like a bit of Hibee company on Christmas Day. Our first team, men and women, are right behind the appeal – you may even see some of them serving lunch...

Christmas Lunch For 500 involves every member of the Hibee Family - and that includes you!

So how can you help? By supporting the Hibee Christmas Appeal or volunteering on the day. The 2022 Hibee Christmas Appeal will not only deliver Christmas Lunch for 500, but throughout winter, a weekly lunch in the hospitality suites for anyone who’s struggling with bills or could benefit from a good old natter!

Great question. Because our only home game before Christmas is Livingston on Xmas eve, Edinburgh North East Foodbank have asked us to do one after new year (when donations slow down and more is needed).

Hibernian Community Foundation plan to run their annual collection before the Dundee United game on Saturday 14th January. This will complement an initiative run by the club still to be communicated ✅

I’ve just had a text through saying they have raised £31,000 on the auction and donations. Phenomenal amount at this time of year. Some excellent items to bid on and a great initiative. A lot of the money goes towards feeding 500 people at Easter Road for xmas lunch tomorrow

With the auction, pledges, donations on the Hibernian Community Foundation website, we have raised over £31,000. Thank you for your support 🙌🏻

Tomorrow we will deliver Christmas Day Lunch for 500, thanks to an army of 50 Hibee volunteers 💚

This is just the start and look out for more HCF initiatives. Over winter, with the cost of living of crisis hitting so many families, we will be increasing our weekly lunch to twice weekly and activities for the elderly three times a week in the stadium

I was down photographing the event today. I'm absolutely blown away and hugely proud of what the Club, Community Foundation and those that gave their time up today managed to achieve. It has really made my Christmas and I hope all those that came along today had a great time. Well done everyone on taking care of the wider Hibs family on what can be a very difficult day.
