I have not seen a thread on this yet so I will start it 3 days late.

In the lead-up to Christmas, we are shining a light on Hibs players (past and present) to wear the numbers 1-25! Up first – number ones; David Marshall, Derek Riordan and John Burridge!

David Marshall (2022 - present)

Marsh joined the Hibees this Summer on a two-year deal with the Club. The Scotland international made 47 caps for his county before announcing his retirement in June 2022.

A short time after his arrival at Easter Road he was named First Team Captain by Lee Johnson and has made 19 appearances in green and white this season keeping six clean sheets.

The 37-year-old is fondly remembered for saving Aleksandar Mitrović's penalty against Serbia which helped Scotland qualify for EURO 2020 – their first major tournament in over 22 years.

Derek Riordan (2001-06 / 2008-11)

Hibs striker Derek Riordan scored 104 goals in 260 games for the Hibees across two separate spells with the Club.

The Edinburgh-born maverick was a popular figure at Easter Road and scored many important goals for the Hibees and won the Scotland Young Player of the Year Award in the 2004/05 season.

Riordan initially wore squad numbers 30 and 26 when he broke into the First team before taking the number 10 shirt at the beginning of the 2003/04 season.

‘Deeks’ left to join Celtic in 2006 but returned two years later. At the time of his return, Colin Nish had the number 10 shirt so Riordan famously opted to wear ‘01’ on the back of his shirt instead.

John Burridge (1991-93)

John Burridge joined in the summer of 1991 and spent two years with the Club in the early 1990s.

The Hibs shot-stopper made 77 appearances for the Hibees and quickly earned cult hero status - winning the Scottish League Cup in 1991.

Burridge is famously known for his entertaining pre-match warm-ups and returned to Easter Road earlier this year for the Hanlons Stevenson Foundation Charity Match.

Andy Goram 1987-1991

The Goalie needs no introduction

163 appearances for HIBS scoring twice

Capped 11 times for Scotland whilst a Hibernian player

Many would argue probably the best ever Hibs goalkeeper

Jim Leighton 1993 -1997

Outstanding goalkeeper for HIBS

178 appearances for HIBS

Capped 23 times for Scotland whilst a Hibernian player

Great thread

I'm not sure to be honest and think it's just a bit of fun like adding Riordan.
